'83 K5 6.2L Diesel 64" rear springs. 3/4 ton axles. rear discs. Boring but works!

If you'd never run a 12 valve, there is no hope for this world...

I once owned an extended cab long box 1992 W250, 60 front 70 rear, 12 valve and NV4500 (getrag blew up). It served to convince me that A-Dodge trucks are horrible and cheaply made, B- the 12 valve is a fine engine, but isn't the end all be all that people make it out to be.

That being said I'll likely end up with one in my crew cab just because I can get my hands on one cheap. But it certainly won't be stock. They are pigs stock just like the other diesels of their period

A 12 valve isn't now, nor ever has been, THE engine...

But it is stupid simple, stupid reliable, and kills any 6.2/6.5 for power

Drive a stock 89 5.9 before you make that statement. They didn't kill ANYTHING in 1989....

Non intercooled were worse, still better than a 6.5

Sounds like you had a great candidate for that racing thing you did...

IDK BRO!

You musta had a highway geared turd, with a bad lift pump, and a blown turbo...

I actually sold my 92 in favor of a 2000 K2500 with a 350 and 4L80e. And never once regretted it. But we're plugging up a thread so I'll leave it at that.
