83K5_blazer (she’s back!)

Rust repair and trying to un-f*ck everything the PO's had done.
Just wanted to let ya know I'm still working on getting harness samples. No timeline yet on delivery.

Do you need the stainless trim that goes around the grille? I've got extra in the garage I'm about to have to get rid of when I move.

Sorry I'm just now getting back. If you still have them, that would be great! These are about shot.

I put them up in the classifieds a couple days ago (free, just trying to give parts a new home instead of throwing things away) and I think I have a home for them, but if he changes his mind you're next in line.

No problem man! We had a tornado come through here last Sunday night and I got called in and it was a nightmare all week. I'm already at 20 hours of OT and still have the rest of this week to go. I'm ready to get back to my normal schedule and get back to working on this thing.

Thought I would post an update, it's been a while. I scored an unmolested dash from the yard today! It even came with the old Delco speakers and brackets!

I also got started on the rust surgery today. I got most of the spot welds cut and the outer right rocker off and ended up calling it a day. Now it's time to go grill out with friends and drink some beer.

Welcome back!
Haha! Thanks! I feel like I'm starting to make some real progress now. The yard I went to just got in a 78 K5 with a good bed. Mine is completely rusted along the tailgate and I may have to go back and cut that floor out.

Awesome work again! Take everything you can from that 78 in the junk yard, even if you don't need it. You might end up needing it, it's good to have extras, or someone here may need it. That's why I pulled interior trim and headliner out of one I found a while back.

I need to go to harbor freight and get a cheap reciprocating saw and cut that floor out of that 78. There wasn't much left on that 78, I got most of my stuff out of an 84 C10.

Make sure to get and fully charge 2 or 3 batteries for it. It eats battery power really fast

Day 2 of floor/ rocker repair.

I didn't get as far as I wanted today but I don't mind taking it slow so I don't f*ck anything up. I'm taking the time to see how the factory panels fit together and realized the after markets really suck. I'm also trying to clean as much of the frame and body mounts as I can while having all this stuff out. And not to disappoint, here are a ton of pictures.

I had some time today to get back out and work on this thing. I don't know if I've mentioned this yet but replacement panels suck! I'm mainly having trouble with this inner rocker. I don't know who came up with the design on this thing but they need to loose their job. I got the rear floor mocked up and traced it from the piece I cut out and after mocking up the rocker panel, my floor is about a 1/4" to wide. Not sure how that happened.. the replacement rocker isn't terrible, it can be tweaked to fit. My vertical cuts met up damn near perfectly.

I was able to finish sandblasting the cab supports and got them epoxy'd. After all that was clean and dry, I cut my rear floor pan and laid it in. The fit enitially wasn't bad, other than the die marks being off. I mocked up my rocker panel and then everything kind of went to shit. I tried mocking up the inner rocker but the cut of that thing just didn't make sense. After hacking it up a couple times I got it were it halfass fit but then I noticed the floor was sticking out over my seal lip. That I can fix by cutting a little more of the floor pan. I'm at a loss on what to do on this inner rocker, other than finding someone that can bend me a "z" panel. I started getting pissed off and quit for the day.
