83K5_blazer (she’s back!)

Rust repair and trying to un-f*ck everything the PO's had done.
An oven is a dry heat too, doesn't mean it's fun to be in :rotfl:. Make sure you guys have lots and lots of water, trust me.
So I should rent a trailer, take the top off the blazer, secure it to the trailer and then drive really fast to get the hell out of there? Haha!

Oven doesn't sound so bad as walking out door at 6 am to get smacked by 99% humidity and have you breathe taken away. Takes alot of people to get use to it if not use to it and has almost sent a few people I know to hospital!

Sounds like you know what I'm talking about with the heat plus humidity! Haha!

Send the parts and/or the money and anything's possible :waytogo:

Have you planned your trip route back home yet?

Not yet. I'm trying to figure out when I can get down there and get it. I talked to the owner and feel a lot more comfortable driving it back after hearing what all he has had done to it while he's had it. I'm currently waiting on an insurance check that was issued yesterday and was told it could take up to 7 days to process. The current owner is heading out of town for 3 weeks next Wednesday... so if everything works out correctly, I'm thinking fly out Monday or Tuesday and road trip back. But nothing ever works out for me the way it should.

I need to find a buyer for the 83 now. I've got it posted and I'm already tired of the bullshit question from people on CL. I don't have a FB account so CL is about the only place I can post it.

I guessed that would be the route, it's in the opposite direction of where I'm at. I live in Tempe.

Update:

This is the direction I am going now. I'm just going to keep the one that started it all and finish her out.

Operation Full Vert. has commenced. Thanks to @BowtieBlazer for the frame. I got it in today, stripped and cleaned it and gave it a good coat of that green everyone loves around here.

I'm still looking for doors and a top but here in KC there is nothing to be had. I know shipping on a top would be ridiculous but I don't know how bad doors would be. I've thought about cutting the ones I have but I haven't found enough reference material to feel comfortable doing it. I've found a few posts on here but I still have questions..

Do your own doors, Ive seen your project so far, the light sheetmetal work you are doing you got the skills. I got this top if you know someone that runs hot shot or if I still have it come deer season maybe I'll bring it to Mizzou.
I'd love to have the top but the distance is the issue. However, if you hunt close to Missouri, I could meet you!

Slow progress lately. I'm starting to rat-hole engine parts now. I've had the intake for a while and finally pulled the trigger in a carb the other day and it just came in and I really like the way it's looking so far. I was going to go the FiTech route but I got a hell of a deal on the Holley.

I'm still debating on getting all the parts and pulling what I have now, for a rebuild one weekend or finding a good block and just building it over time and then doing a swap. The way the "good/ decent " block market is around here, it looks like I'll just be building the one I have.

I've got all my body parts sitting quietly in the garage ready to be swapped out, just need to find the time to start back up on the rust repair.

I've got this throttle bracket on its way and should be here by Friday.

That setup you got there is good, plus they are parts meant to work together pretty well, the EPS manifolds imho are better than the run o mill performer mainly because you don't have to run an adapter for a Holley.

If you read some and take the time to dial in the Holley it'll do 90% of what your asking it to do.
