83K5_blazer (she’s back!)

Rust repair and trying to un-f*ck everything the PO's had done.
Got a few more things scratched off the list tonight. I got the new bushings installed on the rear of the leaf springs, got under it and cleaned and painted the part of the frame (and anything else I could get to to clean), installed the Bilstiens, the new tank, sending unit and straps went in and I feel like I’m forgetting a few things.

One thing I found that was odd, after I got it all buttoned back up, I fired it up and drive it down the street and I know have no dash lights..

I would start with turning the dimmer for the dash lights, wiggle it back and forth. They can get dusty and loose contact.

Got the nurf bars in yesterday and went out tonight to install them. I got one done... the original body bolts were a bitch to get off so it took forever to get that one done. I tried to trouble shoot the lights but couldn’t find my multimeter so I couldn’t do a whole lot. I also noticed my rear drums are locking up now too..

Well.... she’s gone.. I traded the K5 for something else that I can have more fun with right now and use more often.. a 4 wheeler.. I can’t believe I did it but for what I got, it was a good deal. I ended up trading a guy I work with and he’s already asking me to help him work on her. So, at least I’ll still have visitation right. Lol!

I got to the point where I couldn’t keep spending the money on it with everything going on and I don’t have the time for it right now.

However, I did find this today! Full vert and not a bad price.

Well crap..
Sorry to see all of your work go down the road without you.

So you got rid of a runner for a basket case?
I always knew you belonged here :haha:

Well, time to start writing this book again! No that everything has settled down, I’m going to get back at it. I now have a daily driver, so I don’t have to worry about only doing little things to the blazer to keep it drivable. I’m thinking frame off! That’s what I wanted to do originally but it wasn’t feasible then.

I can’t wait to get started again!

*edit: just found 2 doors off of a 74 about 4 hours a way too! This might be a fully topless summer finally!

I actually scored some rust free original front fenders today!!

This is the first project I’ve really done since I got her back and it makes me want to really get going once the weather turns. I’d like to go back for the doors but the pass side was caved in bad.
