I honestly think it is the way to go. So many are built cheap with no qc at all
Well my days of working round the clock are long gone, I turned 55 and I had a heart attack 2 years ago, and I am raising a 4 and 5 year old after I thought I was done.
My daughter is 15.
But I am slowly getting back the energy and I have been finishing small projects to get them out of the way.
I have a shell from a chalet I would like to build as well.
I already cut out the bottom and have plans on how to reinforce it.
But I do prefer purpose built from ground up.

I will not own a mass produced camper, I used to built them. I worked in finishing (trim, seats, cabinet doors), they had the trailers plugged into power so you could use electric tools and have light to see what you were doing. I cannot tell you how many times some one nailed a piece of trim up and the breaker would trip cause you just nailed through the electrical wires. Company policy was to just leave the nail and flip the breaker back on.
