9 Days and we'll be on the road to Moab :saweet:

Started going through tools, fluids and spare parts needed for the trip.

Ordered spare 1350 and 1410 u-joints, swepco PS fluid, new PS mount (don't like the alignment) another set of 1" and 3/4" D rings.

Ended up hitting the bottom of the bed with some white paint and mounting the license plate yesterday evening.

and I'm driving the truck this week as much as possible including today in the projected 109 heat :yikes:

Drove the truck over to ruffstuff for tube and back to the house, it's 105 out :yikes:

Engine temp was 185-190 the whole time. Trans got up to 215-219 in traffic on the way back, need to wire the auxiliary fan still. If it's still running warmer than I like with the fan then I'll have to loop it through the radiator.

Back brakes are dragging as I drive off from a stop. When I got home I gave the PPV a few spins, I'll try it again later. It's just too fkn hot outside.

What's the forecast for Moab when you guys will be there!?

Yeah 85f is all i can take!
Not used to it at all.

I'm OK with the 90's, the 100+ heat is whole other animal. This year has been brutal.....

I was doing some reading about the brakes and I may have another issue. The rear brakeline runs down the drivers side frame rail not too far from the exhaust (wrapped). Wonder if I'm boiling the fluid and that's causing sticky rear calipers. I should just pickup a 8' sleeve for it, it's can't hurt anything.

Check out Hot Rod sleeve. I used it on my fuel lines that run close to the headers. Comes in different diameters and stretches over fittings.

Thanks @AJs72K5 for the link. I ended up ordering more of the summit brand stuff that has the Velcro so I don't need to crack the line open to slip it over. In hindsight I should have used some slip over stuff like you linked when I was bending the lines.

I had to pull the fuel line section loose. Not a big deal. But, yeah, bleeding brakes again aren't worth it this close to the trip.

I don't know!?I would believe the brake lines get hot at WOT but anything else seems like a crapshoot.
Shur can't hurt to protect them though. Hope you get it sorted out soon!
Good luck!

That heat would drive me nuts!
Or my nuts would drive me nuts! Lol!

Could be, really at this point I only have a few working theories. I spun the Wilwood PPV all the way open so it's not regulating any fluid. If that doesn't work I'll try plan B. @bent72 brought up another idea, possibly a caliper sticking.
