just make a spreader before you dive into it, sounds like you'll be doing the gears anyway.

Partsmike has the correct seals.

Spreader?

Ill never do buisness with those guys again. They had no problem taking my money and not giving me my parts until I really turned the heat up on them.

Yep, case spreader.

I've only bought parts from those guys in person, they're 20 minutes from me. That sucks....

For some reason it happens to me. diy4x did the same thing but they owned up to the ball dropping.

Anyway, ive read up on the spreaders a bit. most people dont seem to need them unless the case is stubborn....you know how my luck is with that lol

I would make a torque strut.. They bolt from the motor mount to the Trans and there is one that goes from the frame to the case, it probally was going for a while. Just extra insurance. Never hurts

I couldn't find one the other day when I looked. There's a chance I left one at my dad's house. I'm going down there for Father's Day this weekend and he wants me to take back some spare parts I left under his carport a few years ago. I'll make sure to look for it real good and if I find it, I'll send it out west for you.

I've heard you need them and don't need them. I can tell you that next time I pull it, I'll have a spreader.

Motor mount to the tail of the trans?

I've seen an OE torque mount that went between the frame and the np205 t-case, I want to say it was a 69-72 part?

If you locate one that's awesome but don't go out of your way just for me.

Thanks.

I used one of these on my last build.... works great.

and this is a case spreader. My d60 was tight and it made all the difference in the world when I was putting in my ARB.

Thanks for the pics of the crossmember support, I may need to look at doing something like this as well.

I saw a couple homemade spreaders similar to yours, I'm sure Eric would fab something being that he has access to machine shop. Then of course I would borrow it :D

That tcase support is trick. Id rock one if i had a 205.

Its tempting lol. First i have to ask the old man if hes made one yet from all the years racing cars. If i make one ill send it out no problem. I saw an aurora strut sitting around at work the other day...

37s a good size to run down there at the Rubicon? It'd be nice be able to drive down there, run the trail, and drive back.

Thats an excellent size. It could be done with 35s too. Smaller tire=more damage. With 37s and careful driving you get through with a few scrapes.

I haven't wrenched on the truck much however I've been acquiring lots of parts to keep me busy through the winter. Strategic planning

Chris wanted my NP205 so I removed that and in the process I found a couple loose bolts that held the adapter to the crossmember (trans mounts) so I'm pretty sure that's what caused the drivetrain to rock forward and snapped the adapter on the rubicon. Lesson learned there.....

The reason why I sold the 27 spline NP205 is because the rig will have a TH400/Eco Box/32 spline NP205 w/32 spline outputs & twin sticked. I picked up a TH400/32 spline Np205 combo a few months ago, need to swap out the th400 output for a shorty. Also found the TH400/Np208 adapter that is used to bolt the TH400 to the Eco Box. Also have the twin stick rails, still need to buy the Eco Box, JB Fab triple stick cable shifters and find the 241 planetarys. With the eco box I should be OK with 37-38's and 4.10 gears.

Post trail inspection also found that my rear driveshaft was rubbing the DIY4X anti-wrap crossmember and with the added drivetrain length I may need to revisit this design. I'm pretty sure I can move the crossmember up to the top frame rail.

Hydro Assist- Sitting on the bench is the Redneck ported box, PSC Ram, Ballistic 1.5" tie rod clamp, hoses, ORD weld in frame plates & XJ steering shaft. Need a couple fittings, tabs, 5/8" bolts and a cooler still.

Front shock relocation- When I first mounted the Ferd shock towers I had the 10 bolt axle pretty close to OE location with the push pull steering, now with the D60 and different springs it went forward a couple of inches. So I picked up some of Kerts D60 shock mounts that weld to the tube and the inner C so I can mount the shocks vertical. My plan is to try and use some of the WFO or Ruff Stuff hoops and add a removable crossmember over the engine.

Some other parts laying around are the DIY4x Competition engine mounts, ORD BBC Engine Crossmember & DIY4x shackle hangers.

I should also mention that I noticed a small coolant leak that I think might be coming from a freeze plug on the back of the block. With the trans coming out, new crossmember and engine mounts I may just pull the engine, slap on some new seals and paint it. :dunno:

Same here. I keep looking but there new enough that people on CL seem to think theyre worth something. Im also looking for a pre smog or exempt cab thats been registered within the last 7 years and has papers lol!!
