Looks good. Really no reason to ever have to drop the tank if you have an access door to get the sender out and to get to the lines on top unless you put dirt or some foreign liquid in your fuel tank. Once it's clean inside to begin with you shouldn't ever have to touch it.

That's the idea but it's my luck that I'll need to drop it for some reason. Or I'll smash the shit out of it :burnout:

kind of surprised it didn't eat the distributor gear however the cam is more brittle.....
It got both of them. I didn't notice the cam gear until I replaces the distributor gear and was dropping it in for the second time. Fords have a hex shaft that drives the oil pump and it will fall down in the oil pan if you aren't careful so I was checking to see if it was in the right place. That's when I noticed the cam. This was when I was 19 or 20 so I was pretty dumb.

in other news....I need to pickup some steel for the tank mounting and skid plate. I'm thinking about using 1" square tube for the structure around the bottom of the tank with a 3/16" steel plate. Then I was thinking maybe I could get away with 1/8" if built it right?

or I build something more like it came from the factory but beefy like TNA does

For you K5 guys it's a great option. 1/4" thick bottom with 3/16" sides and it bolts up.

I'm running custom crossmembers so it won't work for me. I'll grab some steel tomorrow and see where it leads me this weekend....

and I ordered the longer straps that match this tank, those will be tomorrow with some more 3" mandrel bends.

Finished up the drivers side piping along with the merge.

The muffler is a little too wide to fit between the frame and the shackle for the anti-wrap so I played around with the idea of it being on a 45.

That's pretty much how my old setup was, dual out each side with longtubes. Clocking the case flat with the narrow frame rails just doesn't leave any room on the passenger side for a pipe.
