Axle seals are such a pain. No matter how careful you are, they often tend to leak after you replace them. :poo:

Heim for the win, but is it me or did you weld the tab/bracket on upside down? I believe the orientation you have it in would be if it were on top of the tube, not suspended like it is now, no? My thought is that the enclosed side of the bracket is meant to go against the main tube so you don't have to try and weld the inside of the tab like I did which was a pretty darn tight spot to get into with the mig gun. That would also leave the radius'd corner at the bottom instead of the hard corner at the bottom like you have. Was there some kind of clearance issue the other way?

Imagine the following picture upside down. See what I am talking about?

I was waiting to see how long until someone caught that.

I had it mocked up the correct way, took it off the truck and lined it up with the pen marks on the bench. Tacked the corners, welded one tab and then figured out it was upside down :haha: I contemplated cutting it all off but I decided to cap it off with some flat steel and make it a conversation piece/reminder to pay attention.

Ah I see. I couldn't live with myself having it upside down, I would have to cut it off and do it like the mock up pic. It just looks WAY better and I am super anal on most stuff so it would annoy the heck out of me. Not that it affects the functioning of the arm though . . .

I have welded stuff in with the wrong orientation before too, it's an easy mistake to make and it sucks when you have that moment of "awwwww SH*T"

At some point it will be fixed..... just not a priority with the Rubicon trip 10 days out.

I'm pretty sure I said "you stupid f**k" lol, I was burned out after fighting the damn D60 carrier back into the axle earlier that morning.

Haha, I had to go back and look to see what you did. I did not notice it the first time. Oh well, I would have probably done the same thing once I noticed.

Summit dropped off some goodies, Taylor wires, lug nuts, air leaner housing & a K&N filter.

The 135 degree wires work best with these heads/headers. Also ditched the chrome air cleaner for a black one, should be brown soon :D

Damn it was loud with open headers, neighbors love me. Hopefully get over to the exhaust shop tomorrow, probably trailer it since it's about a 10-15 minute trip down the highway.

Shot of the fan indicator lights, I also spent some time cleaning up some wiring and hooking up the tach I bought from another CK5 member. Forgot to snap a pic but it's a little 2" strapped to the column.

Pulled out my JB Fab twin stick kit and reviewed the installation directions. Might tackle this Saturday.....

and I'm trying to decide if I want to run the Mickey Thompson wheels or the Weld Stonecrushers? What do you guys think?

I think I like the Welds better.

Why the 135* plug wires? Just curious. What are the other options I wonder.

You can buy straight, 90* or 135* (same as 45*)

the straight boot will make contact with the header on the #1 cylinder and at least one other (cant remember which one). 90* hit the heads becuase the plugs are on an angle. 135* have the right bend to clear the heads and headers. I still might grab some socks for them.

I've always liked the MT's

Stonecrusher.

I'm leaning toward the stone crushers too but I feel kind of bad F-king them up on the trail. Can't buy those Mickeys anymore either, at least not the US made ones that I have.

Oh yeah. I was thinking you meant 135 degrees Fahrenheit. I was like "man it will get a lot hotter than that in there." :haha:

I like the Weld`s :thumb:

I also like the wide steelys you got on there now. Those and your old 35s would be perfect for my truck.
