Lol I don't care what you have. I won't pick on you. I know nothing about big blocks anyway so it's a good learning opportunity.

Maybe you won't smell like burnt Vaseline if you get it out of your system.

:sign9:Here ill raise the california peace flag. If you be nice ill be nice. Truce?

I think you miss understand, I was commenting on the high unemployment rate of California and that you better keep working so those people at home can keep enjoying their glaucoma medicine. Besides I heard when you guys go bankrupt Nebraska is going to buy your state at the sheriff sale. Not sure what we are going to do with a desert but we will figure something out.

Sorry if my Enrish is getting bad, while being a dick on the internet here, I am also typing a 10 page paper on modern advances in powdered metallurgy. This scrambles my thinking a bit. You guys should see the bad ass knife the New Zealander's had in 2014 at the Americas cup that was 3d printed out of Ti. Weighs 32 grams and is sharper than hillbilly whit. They claim it was a huge safety change since it can cut a tough marine rope in one cut where the standard knife takes 10 cuts.

I don't think we'll ever go bankrupt if they tax the weeds. Besides I can stoke my fireplace and keep the lights on by burning illegals.

Let's just stop with the chopping on california. It gets old. There plenty of thing I can say about Nebraska.

Went through the file and found the receipt for the engine work from 1997. My buddy bought this truck from a guy in modesto, I was with him when he bought it. Then we beat on it in Tahoe for a winter and it sat from 1999 until I got it. The engine might have 20K on it, no more....

Here are the line items:

Reman lower block $1295.00
RVI Cam $75.00
Crankshaft core $275
No mention of the heads

I'm off to machine shop.....

Machinist said he can polish the crank, no need to turn it from what he see's. Bearings are 0.020, any brand preference? I've used clevite in the past.

Used both. No issues

I'm seeing some serious price variation between the sets. With the Honda's I always ran the good shit but I spun it to 10K rpms, I don't think it's quite the same with this pig.

Come on now chief I said truce! I'm not sure if I should give you love or what?

You can say anything you want about Nebraska, there are only like 5 guys living in the whole state so it isn't like you will really be offending anyone.

Honestly it should make absolutely no difference in this application. I would again consider talking to the machinist about what he could sell you. My machinist gets great deals from PBM and is usually the same or less than any where else and if there is a problem you can deal with a person instead of calling. I have seen the guys trying to save a nickel then get miss boxed parts or something and end up spending time on the phone trying to correct it. I guess working in a shop I tend to let the guy working on it order parts. Most time it is less and they will measure and check the parts to be sure you are getting the right part. Besides I used to up charge all the jokers dragging in discount parts house part then always told them "see you next week" knowing they $5 they just saved was going to cost them double that when we charged them labor swapping in the "warranty" part.

Wait, what? There are good honda parts? I figured they all used juicy fruit wrappers for insert bearings. What is a pack now $.25? So you are in like what a buck if you have to double them up for a under grind.

Wait I did use the good bearings on my Honda rebuild. I think I went with skf, I mean bellray is pretty good but it just gets oiled by the fuel going though the crankcase so better buy the good stuff. You know, since they haven't made them since 86.

I meant to ask him when I was there, totally forgot about it. We started chatting about the other shop that rebuilt this engine and tried to figure out why it failed. He's concerned that the cam might be screwed up assuming those bearings were replaced.

Yep, those same names that make domestic pistons, cranks, bearings, rods, springs etc make Honda parts. I still like my rice :flipoff7:

pack of what? Bearings? Clevite 020's range from $49-99 for mains and $9-12 for the rods.

I would inspect the cam. Sorry about the Asian food preference.
