Nice to see you making progress. You going to angle the ends of the angle iron any? Might look nice with a 45 or maybe more so it tapered off visually from the side.

Yes, they'll be cut on a 45 when it's finished. There's a chance I'll add additional angle extending the length of the skid.

Good thinking on putting the axle back under to check clearances.

I need to fab a dolly for the cab so I can pull it off the old frame, roll it onto the trailer with the bed. Then I can strip the goodies off the old frame, cut it up and get rid of it.

I think you may have motivated me to finally finish my belly skid this week.

Yes, you need to keep working on the K5. Need to fix your pics too

...picked up the HF 12" disc sander that I've been eyeballing for awhile. Works pretty damn good although I'm sure it could use a better quality abrasive.
Nice selection. I have the same, and quickly burned through the HF discs. The 3M 36grit discs have held up much better, and they came in a 30 pack from Amazon.

The value on that sander is tough to beat.

I'm pleased with the way it performed over the weekend.

I was looking at Roark Supply (vendor here) for the discs since I'm pretty happy with their cut off wheels and flap wheels. I'll check out Amazon as well.

Yeah, believe me, I know, already fixed the Raider and Go Cart threads since they are relatively small, K5 thread is next :surepal:

Rib cage.....:deal:

Hahaha, totally forgot about that, my mistake, thanks for reminding me :waytogo:

Built a dolly for my cab after work

And my new compressor motor showed up so I should be back in business.

Not enough triangulation in that dolly design :D

I was waiting for that

Yeah, you might crush a nun or something...

that would actually make a good Halloween prop, a smashed nun under my truck cab in the driveway  but that would probably offend someone though.

Need to pickup a couple 10' 4x4's to slide between the cab and the frame so I can lift the cab off the frame and roll the frame out. Haven't figured out what I'll use to hold those 4x4's up yet, I've seen guys use 50 gallon barrels, I could also fab up some legs with more 2x4's.

that would be a metric shit ton of lumber.

I'm thinking more along the lines of tall saw horses.
