Do the yellow tops work ok with your alternator? Just curious because we have seen some charging systems melt down because the owner was using a deep cycle battery. I know the yellow top is dual purpose but wasn't sure if it worked different?

I've used them before without any problem. The truck has only ran for a few 10-15 minute intervals but I haven't noticed anything odd.

Yeah you would notice the alternator getting hot even in that short of time so it must be ok? I guess now that I think about it a cranking/deep cycle would have to work with your charging system. Nevermind... lol

I'll keep an eye on it either way.

The fire extinguisher is always nearby too.
If it works good I might get one for mine. We sell them at the shop so I can get them at 6% over cost. If I can sweet talk the interstate guy I might be able to get an even better deal.

they're hit or miss but I've found that most batteries are. I keep a battery tender on this truck, we'll see how it does.

My Red top went to shit after I wasnt using it weekly. I let it sit for a month or two and now it wont hold a charge.

My new red top(that I got for my birthday last year), has been doing perfectly fine. I got months at a time without starting it, and I have yet to have an issue. There were also many times where I did longer, continuous cranking due to starting issues. It's held up great.
