I would have to look to make sure but I have some Deka group 31 semi batteries in my 6.2L K5(very little electrical load except starting). I got them as good used take outs way back in like 2010-2011 and they have been great. When it was sitting up until 2016 I would start it once a month to charge batteries and run up to temp and then disconnect them. I'm surprised they are still good and worked fine all through winter even with the cold temps and harder starting up here.

I'm a fan of the Odyssey/Diehard batteries. Had a dual battery setup with them in my Ranger and it's what I'll continue to use from now on. Not as many options on battery boxes for them but Ruffstuff makes a single mount at least.

I've been running Deka Intimidator AGM batteries for probably about 10yrs now. Haven't had a problem with them. The pair in the crew cab is just 5yrs old now.

On your shock hoops. Make sure they don't interfere with the power steering pressure hose. I just ran into that with mine but my hoops are also homemade.

I was a bit limited on battery box selection because I wanted to firewall mount mine. Ended up with a Chassis Unlimited box.

That's the only PS hose I have installed so far. I'm pretty sure I can get away with welding the hoop legs to the top of the frame rail without straddling the steering shaft. I want to figure out where these go before I run the front brake lines.

Ordered the russell twist-lok hose and fittings to complete the power steering system. I feel like I've been nickel and dimed on the AN stuff......

Going up the hill do get the rims tomorrow, need to swing by WFO and get some brake line tabs and parts mike for a couple 1350 yokes.

Really want to see what the 40's look like under this pig.

I'm at that nickel and dime getting sick of it stage myself. Hopefully I'm done buying. Actually have a pretty good stack of stuff to return that I didn't use.

it's a shitty stage, almost like I'm stalled....

I should return some of the extra parts I have laying around.

I was just looking at what I've spent in the past few weeks..... :yikes:

@skunked out of curiosity, how much coolant did you need to fill the motor/radiator? Books says 23qts or almost 6 gallons. Doesn't seem like I drained that much out of it.

I believe it took close to 4 gallons initially before I fired it and I topped it off with another 1/2 gallon or so. I have a bigger/taller OE 4 row radiator as well.
