Well I spent a large amount of time reading and researching this for you @skunked and unfortunately I think I am more confused then learned.
LOL, well not quite but it does seem that there are alot of combos out there. The gist of what I got out of it is this.

We covered all most all of this already today. (This is for older stuff, pre 2000)
The larger reservoir is always for the front disk, in pass car stuff and 1/2 ton truck. Which is front port. (Like you have)

The smaller reservoir is because the rear drums need less fluid.
Most drum/drum stuff has similar sized reservoirs. These are not written rules just guide lines.

Ford and Dodge occasionally stay from this. (Or all the time)

Now bigger bore Masters are typically opposite (1 ton)

As I mentioned I couldn't find to many hard facts. Looks like they change this crap all the time. But like usual the general is the most consistent.

Now for fun I snapped a few pictures of my junk.

The 76, front port front.

My 93 3/4 ton. Rear port front.

Lastly dumpy. Rear port front.

Once you get into the 1 ton stuff it seems to get even more muddled with things and later model stuff really screws it up.

Lol, oh well. I hope someone learned something. I think I did.

I've made a few changes to my brake setup since I did that 1-ton booster write up on 67-72. There's one here too in buried in the 1st Gen section.

If you're gonna do a disc/disc conversion, I don't think it really matters (even though I still crossed my lines). I used an adjustable prop valve to correct the bias.

Well I swapped the lines and noticed a huge improvement. Hooked up the questionable booster and now the pedal returns however the booster is not assisting and hissing air so I'm sure it's smoked.

I believe so, it's stopping pretty good now and I don't need to pump the pedal. Only weird issue is the rear drums make noise when I backup.
Are they adjusting themselves or just clunky?

I would bet that the noise will calm down after you use the brakes more.
