Nah, I'm just the dumbass that decided to go rip on it late night after a bunch of beer. Stupid mistake that I can only blame myself for.

But, but, but, where's the label on the beer saying don't ride motorized mono-wheel skateboards after consuming? Where's the label on the skateboard saying don't drink and ride? Where's the sign on the road or sidewalk that identifies a dangerous surface imperfection that could cause serious injury if riding a motorized mono-wheel skateboard while under the influence? The public demands answers.

C'mon, if that lady decades ago got $1M out of McDonald's for spilling hot coffee on herself surely you have a case.:D

Oh i get it, just don't agree with it.

Damn dood! Don’t you know? With age comes a cage. I stay the F off of anything unless it has four wheels and hopefully a roof/rollcage. Glad you didn’t kill yourself, jeez...

Man I’m glad you’re ok. This ^^ really REALLY takes it to another level. Any long term side effects?

Need me to come get the truck for a while?? :D

hopefully no side effects, I'll know more after additional CT scans and visits with the neurologist though.

and hell no, that truck is going keep me sane in the meantime (I think) :1zhelp:

Dude, I thought you were a little more mature than that, I guess alcohol removes 20 years. :pimp:

Get well soon.
I will be out of the hospital tomorrow and I need to get together with you.
I still don't believe you're that close and we still didn't get together.
No we both can't do too much so now is the time. :waytogo:

Been a rough couple weeks. I injured myself riding skateboard and spent a week in the hospital.
That’s heavy. Glad you’re healing, but sorry to hear of the injury and the time it’s taking from you.

David

Man that sounds like a wicked impact you took. Glad you are still around to talk about it. Feel better dude!

If it's any consolation, stupid stuff happens later in years too. With or without the liquid influence. My Dad at 68 years old (going on 12 it seemed like) had a wild idea to buy a go-ped. 2cycle gas powered scooter. Add a tweaked carb and other little touches and it would do 25 mph all day with a 250lb old fart on it.

So one afternoon my Dad decided to ride his go-ped to his buddies house a few blocks away. The street was freshly paved so the solid rubber wheels rolled smooth. What Evel forgot was they had just cut away the asphalt from around the manhole lids so there was a nice 2" lip that was square and blunt to roll over. Not paying attention, he drops the front wheel onto the manhole lid and that solid rubber tire hit the sharp lip on the other side and refused to roll over it. So he basically did a nice Endo and got launched forward off the scooter at 20+ mph. He hit the ground hard on his hip and face. No helmet either. So his face looked like he did a couple rounds with Mike Tyson and he busted his hip and had to get it replaced. Oh and the state patrol came to him at the hospital to give him a ticket for riding an unlicensed vehicle on public roads.

Had in not been for the ice cream truck driver that had just passed him prior to his wipe out he might have got run over too. He saw my Dad get launched in his rear view mirror and turned around to come make sure he was ok.

Moral to the story is as guys we can do stupid stuff at any age. Dad recovered fully and other than a stiff hip he's no worse for wear 10+ years later. I still give him shit for it though. And I took the go-ped from him!

Damn...brain injuries are scary. Glad your doing better.

Leave that chit to the young un's!

At least wear a helmet & pads. Glad you're still with us!

I'm a little over 5 weeks into my recovery which is going well per the doctors. Still can't go to the office or doing any projects around the house unless it's light duty and I'm limited to 30-45 minutes at a time. I get dizzy and headaches really easily if I push it too hard which is common with frontal lobe trauma. During my last appointment with the neurologist he noticed that my left ear drum is damaged so I have to see a specialist (ENT) next week about that. Both of my ears are still full of dried blood and other fluids so I'm looking forward to the appointment with the ENT so I can hear better.

Anyway, back to the power steering issues from the last trip.

I called a tech as PSC to confirm it was the pump (almost new) and he said it could be the control valve located in the back of the pump or a clogged screen. He said it's a common problem they see, so I'll pull it apart this weekend and take a look before I do anything else.

This morning I removed the PSC pump for inspection, specifically the control valve as the PSC tech suggested.

The top part of valve assembly slid right out and looked fine.....

however the lower half of the assembly was stuck in the pump. I had to tap on it with a piece of delrin and a small hammer so it loosened up enough for a magnet to pull it out.

Couple pics of the piston and the spring. As you can see the screen is clear.....

The oil around the spring had some super fine metal, something you might find during the first oil change on a fresh engine build.

Hopefully this is enough info for PSC to tell me what the issue is. Since it's apart I'm also going to upgrade my reservoir to the newer model with the better filter from PSC.

I also installed the new 15" steering wheel and put my 13" back on the wall where it belongs.

I also found out that I broke the coolant reservoir when I slid into some trees so I need to buy another. Need a couple more pieces of hardware so the front headlight and trim will be fixed from that same incident.
