I hate exos, might narrow it…..

I’m a squarebody guy and I like having a square looking Chevy on the trail too.
Oh don't get me wrong my square will stay square and I just decided I was not going to squeeze it in tight places.
My k5 was all rusted and I didn't care, my suburban and my crewcab are pristine bodies, I will treat them nicer.
If I find a cheap beater I might do rock crawling again on tight trails

The nitto's are showing their age so I've been on the hunt for new tires the past 6 months or so. Considering the truck will be trailered mostly, it opened up other tire options including interco's and that's when I ran across 42" SXII on the blem page.

I also snagged a set of Battleborn 17" steel beadlocks.

Might need a little trimming.

After watching the youtoube video battleborn published detailing the installation of the beadlock wheels, he noted the tire bead shouldn't be over .75" thick, otherwise spacers are required to keep the outside ring from "coning" or bending toward the center of the rim. This illustration is worth a thousand words.

Measuring the intercos I found the bead to be .90" therefore I needed spacers however they were on backorder from Battleborn. During further research I found the raceline steel beadlocks were identical looking in the pictures so I called Battleborn and he confirmed the spacers from raceline can be used and I ordered a set from raceline.

They are branded Battleborn Wheels however I think they're coming from the same manufacturer as the Raceline and Allied beadlocks.
I deleted my post not seeing you wrote battleborn in there. I have the same wheels. Cool deal on the blem tires

I wanted 42” SXII’s when I bought my Boggers but no one had any in stock and there was no ETA.

Agreed. #CantLoseOnFortyTwos :saweet:

It's a choir mounting these however I expect to have them finished this weekend.
I’ve got the Coyote headlocks. That was quite possibly the hardest I’ve worked on this truck ever, mounting my 42” interco super swampers, with the Coyote headlocks. I had bruises from hand to hand up each arm and across my chest. They officially kicked my ass. Took me 5 days, 6 hours each day to mount them myself. 4WP wouldn’t even do it. They refused…

Those are the air innerlock deals right? I was going to use something similar with the H2's but never got around to it. This is just a lot of bolts, 32 of them, and you tighten them in a star pattern sequence over and over (probably 10-15 times). Limited amount of power tools are used because you need to feel what you're doing. I probably have about 90 minutes on that first wheel.

That was a chore but it's done. I added two revolutions of ductape around the inner bead to help keep the inner bead on.

Where exactly is the duct tape?
Not on sealing surface I assume but the opposite side?
