84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Hahaha this is awesome.. I suppose you'll never run out of funny names, to much rhymes with 4l80e 4alady ..

I still think it would be a waste of a good trans..

I'm just giving you guff lol. autos aren't too bad. I'd be forced to use one if I was drag racing.

Ethel deserves long ass strokes between turbo spools and soot though.

A cummins Is easily double the cost of this on a good day.. I'd love to do that but the complexity it adds with trying to fit the motor.. and the weight and I don't have a Dana 60 nor a nv4500 and bla bla bla
The Ls is sell the sloppy greasy 6.2 to a "diesel" person and put the Ls in there with motor mounts long tubes, transplant the wiring and other gas dash I have while removing all the stick stuff like pedal and shifter.
Once that's done :flipoff10::woot::burnout::burnout:

The 4l80 is a nice set-up for a multi purpose truck. Like if you get stuck driving in traffic. A manual trans sucks. Yes I drove my Land Cruiser for nine years, rowing through gears, so I have reasons for my opinions. I'm following a desert build for NORRA, Vintage off road oriented, where gasp, their building a 60's Ranchero, with a 347sm bl Ford, with a 4L80 no E. They have built the trans so that doesn't require a computer.
The 5.3/ 4l80e combo offer outstanding performance for the money.

No.. my wife will fry the 4l80 in short time if I did that.

How about an aftermarket controller that allows you to easily set your shift points? I've even seen them that allow you to lock in the gear manually if @wetoolowdingbangow ever winds up borrowing it. ;)

My daily vw, is dsg... I feel I want manual I flip it to manual.. this is no different and I will still have a flow shifter.. just in case

Just puked a freeze plug.. so can't wait for the 5.3.. parked until that happens now! Glad it didn't overheat and fry the motor.. thanks to @secutright for saving my ass and giving me a ride home.
