84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Okay so being at home and the kiddo sleeping and momma down and out, I have had some idle time.
Trying to make the best of it and not waste it.
Went to wal mart and picked up a cover. It cost 29$.
I am not totally stoked that it has transparent material on the lower. I taped the old left over portions of the existing cover to the new fabric to give it some form. I am still going to make a new cover for this later on after KoH and the dust settles from that.
I need the middle seat for Liam at koh. Plus them dang buckets were killing my back.
You can’t see the bolstering I added but it feels good and firm, not all bouncy. So we’ll see how she fares!!

Dammit the starter just literally smoked itself.. now what?? Broke and it’s broke.. and I need it .. fkkk

^^^^^^ man you beat me to that one.

I live on top of a mountain with a 2 mile driveway all down hill. All I have to do is get the truck pointed down hill and it will roll almost the whole way down. I've kicked over a BUNCH of trucks on my driveway....LOL. Even in my trucks that work just fine I get started down the hill and take it out of gear. Let it coast to the bottom and go on my merry way.

I don’t live on a hill so that presents a problem especially since I would have to try to do this alone..

My bosses uncle was push starting an old 50s Chevy with his tractor thinking he would just bail off the tractor after it started and catch the car. It ended up smacking a tree before he got to it. Lol

Maybe would work if you could somehow push start in low low with a doubler and then catch up to it but I'm pretty sure it would never start.

The mechanics at the truck leasing company for the dealer I used to work at had a truck that wouldn't start with the starter. Big truck with a big Cummins. They thought "we will just pull start it with the forklift" so they drug it all around the yard trying to start it. Turns out the egr cooler failed and filled the cyls with coolant and it was hydrolocked. Bent all six rods in it. Doh!

Let's jump back a few pages. Which flywheel/ clutch setup did you use when mating the LS to the nv4500? I have a 95 nv4500 and since I am using a ford transfer case I'm clear on the passenger side.

2006 6.0 2500hd flywheel and the old clutch and pressure plate. You can use the newer stuff just fine though.
Heck in your case using the 95 trans might as well buy the oem parts for the fork and slave.

Was going to say I have one unknown condition you could have. Mine has a weather pack connector and this one has the nut with a lug you bolt on.

Why did you go with the AA bell housing? Just working through the thought process.
