84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
We’ll see..

So crazy info.. I been dialing in my ac and I couldn’t figure out why above 100 deg amibient temps the outlet was getting to 42-43 at the lowest..
weird thing was my feet are pretty hot as weird as that sounds.. so I dropped the thermometer on the floor today and it measured 120+!!!! And the Evaporator is pulling air from just above the floor.. now the temp on my seatbelt in front of my chest where the vent is blowing is 80, so based on that my best guess is the evaporator is pulling in at least 90-100 degree air at best and worst 120 degree air and spitting out 40s!!

So yea I gotta solve this thermal issue ASAP.. it feels like I am standing on hot asphalt..

Anyone know if that insulation and floor kit from lmc works?? Seems like 100$ for the kit of insulation and sound deadener precut is a good deal..

Best thing I did was the transmission tunnel heat shield that goes under the cab. It's thick and bends like thin sheet metal. It had an adhesive back they claim sticks to anything. I was able to install it with the transmission in. Its been there at least 3 years now.

Before I put it in the wife would have to keep here feet far away from the trans tunnel. Now it's not an issue. I had tried heat shield in the cab and it didn't help.

This is the stuff: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-050509

Not sure if that's the size I used.
I like that! I’m gonna buy some and try it out.. can’t hurt.

I put the 6 degree shims on the springs and now I have no more vibes which is nice.. still made the call to my driveline guy anyway just in case I still get some weird harmonics I haven’t heard yet.. trying to eliminate any not good stuff that will kill parts over the lifespan of the truck..

Well I hate to do this but the current situation demands it..
Ethel is for sale, note: the 5.3 is coming out and my small block from the blazer will be transplanted in.
