'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

Well worth the 25 bucks I spent on amazon for this 7/8” allen wrench. Couple healthy smacks with a sledge hammer and she came right out.

Does this tin cap come out the top or should I drive it down? The bearing race is still below it.

I can't believe I didn't think of bolting the chain to the spring perches. Brilliant.

Yeah it works great. Just make sure to put a long bolt through the chain so it doesn’t go off balance and slide the heavy end down when you pull the hub and rotor off. :yikes: I can tell you your life will flash before your eyes. 0AAE2C0A-1EDB-4840-A3AB-DE5DD95D769E.png

Factory 1984 dana 60F pattern. Just posting for reference. I didn’t put any load on the pinion, just whipped the ring gear back and forth with a wrench

Well since my work schedule has changed, I can no longer get in sync with my exhaust guy. So as much as I hate to do it, looks like My exhaust will be “built not bought”.

I have header adapters, 45’s 90’s and straight pipe coming and some v-band clamps. Just gotta pick up some hangers and I think I’ll have what I need to get er done.

That'll be fun seeing how it's cooled down from 1000 degrees to 8-900....lol

I have to get my exhaust done by a shop. There is no way I can do the kind of exhaust bending modifications it going to take to clear the front drive shaft on a single exhaust cross-over pipe system, since my truck is lifted so high.
