'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

I know, that’s why I am surprised just the little tack welds hold it. I just drilled the other side and with both pins it’s pretty damn solid. ? ! Idk

Cool

skipping leg day I see
Haha, I skip all gym days. Only curls I’m doing are 12oz. Lol
I haven’t even weighed myself in over a year cause my ex took her scale, but I’m sure I weigh at least twice as much as that spare tire.

I weighed my 37s when I mounted them. Pretty damn heavy for rotating mass

Looks pretty good. I had made a swing down carrier for mine and had a 37” spare mounted to it but like you pointed out the mounting points for the carrier were too also too close. It would wiggle and after a while the mounting tabs started to tear some of the tube as they moved and pulled away.
If you haven’t thought of it yet I’d suggest gusseting those tabs.

I think if anything I would at least sleeve the pin hole.
100% agree. I think that is the weakest point. The pin is 1/2”, the tab is 3/16”, and the tube is only .120 wall. Looking at it this morning I can actually see a little deformation in the tube hole from jumping on it.

Would it be possible to use the other tubes along with the pins for a little extra beef?

The side tubes do 0% to hold it up. And after looking at it when folded down, those tubes would stick up like a spider monkey.
