'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

Heavy Metal...:saweet: Do you remember those truck classes way back, heavy metal, mini metal and stock?

They look like they fit pretty good. Not bad from the CAD template lol

So dumb question for the uneducated to four links/coils. I get not wanting to poke the shocks through the floor. How much less travel are you giving up by staying under the floor?

That’s not a dumb question. But it’s a relative one. I should actually be gaining about 2” more travel than I had before and it worked really well then. But like you asked, if I was willing to go through the floor, I could probably go to a 16” shock and get about 4 more inches. I REALLY REALLY had to make myself stick to my beliefs on this no floor cutting.
I chopped up a super clean shortbed back in my early 20’s because I got bit by the racetruck bug. I always regretted that. When I started building this one I promised myself I wouldn’t do that to this one.

I can totally respect the aspect of not cutting. Plus all the usable space you had in the back evaporates pretty quickly. Looks totally trick though and I can only imagine how it's going to soak up the rough stuff now.
