Pulled the HP44 apart some. Down to the bare housing w/carrier in it still. Going to start grinding down the casting where the Ford "C" bushings clamp on. Enough to get a good spot to weld my link tabs to.
My Chassis Unlimited order finally showed up yesterday. Parts look good, should be easy to assemble with how they lock together. Heim joints seem nice and beefy.
Housing. I had it on a set of stands about my oil drain pan with the cover off. Somehow knocked it off the stands and into the pan....gear oil everywhere.
Box of goodies. Hydro bellhousing (which I don't need for this project, will probably use on the K5), clutch pedals, hydroboost unit, extended stainless brake lines, limit straps, Chevy stub shafts, flat top knuckles. Didn't realize that picture was so horrible.
Found a 6lug SF14, guy wants $350 for it. Not sure I want to spend that much on one or not. It has 3.73's, if it were a 4.10 axle I'd jump on it. I'm not even sure if 4.10's were available from the factory in that axle though.
As I get closer to getting all of my parts gathered, I've come to the conclusion that I won't be starting the actual build of this truck until I get my shop built. That will happen this summer/fall hopefully. Just ordered windows and siding for the house, so that project will happen first. As much as I'd like to tear into this thing, I don't need a driveway anchor right now. I can wait, plus I have other truck projects to keep me busy.
