Thanks guys, I'm happy i went with this red. Ya were wet sanding and wheeling this week. Then i got to wrap the interior up then reassemble the rest of the out side. Still have to get one gas tank, one sending unit, both battery trays and one set of gas tank straps then i don't have to buy anything thing else, thank god.

Edit: I just seen your post bftank, ya i will never sell this truck it will always stay in the family. My grandma tells me all the time my grandpa would want it back it looks so good. Thanks for the compliments

Looks good man. Nice to see a good looking one in Michigan.

Turned out realy nice! Good job guys! I`m sure grampa would be proud of the two of you guys working together.

Thats thing is turing out pretty awesome. I love that color too.

I have My grandpas old truck too, its a black 89 F150. wont be that nice any time soon though. Looks like you had a pretty decent solid truck to start with too.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Feels good to see it coming together. Got the fuel tanks back in it tonight and got to fire her up. Bled the system, rolled over 3 times and wamoo fired right up and purrs like a kitten. This truck has sat for some lengthy periods of time and it always seems to fire right up with out a problem.

Finishing up the floor patches tomorrow, putting box on sat along with painting the floor and putting the guts back in the doors, then bumpers and put the interior back together sun. if everything goes right it should be on the road early this week.

Question: We pulled the windshield out ourselves, but how hard is it to put back in? Kind of afraid we might crack it, as it is brand new. Think we should leave it to the professionals? :dunno:

I think installing a windshield is much easier than removing one with less chance of breakage since you don't really have to push/pull on the window. Some people have very successfully used a rope-method for quickly installing a windshield. Every time I've installed windows, including a windshield, I've used a variety of flat-blade screw drivers and soapy water to get the locking strip into the gasket. It's slowish and fairly tedious, but not bad. I recommend you give it a gentle try.

After a long day of struggling with putting lmc weatherstripping into Taiwanese doors we finally got it, turned out pretty decent to. Got the hood on, both door assembled, finished wet sanding and wheeling, marker lights and some other small stuff on. It actually looks like a truck now, a pretty bad a$$ truck at that :woot:. Tomorrow the box and more stuff goes on, will try to remember to get some updated pics tomorrow for you guys.

Got the box on today, still have to do the interior, drivers side door chrome molding, d side parking light and put the bumpers on. I hope to be driving this thing by the end of the week. Took most of the day today to convert our garage back to a garage from a paint booth and put away all of our tools and mess we made.

Asked the local auto glass shop how much to install the glass and it was a ridiculous amount, but luckily there was only one guy working and he said he'll do it after work for 50 bucks on Tuesday. Being that it was a new windshield and the back glass is tinted and had my grandpas expensive "in memory of" sticker on it, it is well worth the 50 bucks to me, but thanks for the tips. Here is some pics...

edit: once again my computer hates me so i had to put them on photo bucket http://s728.photobucket.com/albums/ww287/millard419/truck/

Here ya go: On your photobucket...Just roll your cursor over the pic, a drop down box will appear, then left click on the IMG (it will highlight) then right click on copy and paste them to your thread.
