85 Suburban. Back in the shop

You all helped me make up my mind and keep the stock 56s. I was worried about being too soft for a truck that will see a lot of street time.

need shocks for front, and need to bind the leaf pacs together, but other than that front is done.
The 56s with overload removed lifted exactly 4 inches. But looks like ill be dropping the.bump.stops down 2 1/2 - 3 inches.

Finished crossover steering and also repaired king pins that were way loose.

Now I want 3 inch out of the back and not sure how to accomplish yet?

So you put the 56" up front? How far did the axle move forward? Curious how much longer the front drive shaft will have to be. Looks good. I'll be wanting to do the same and move the rear back also.
Any issues with the crossover with the axle up there?

You can see in the bottom pic how far the wheel is in the wheel well. I'd say 2.5 inches when at ride height but haven't measured it yet.

But when it droops the diff for a father away.

I notched the engine crossmember to clear the drag link, no biggie but later on I would like to change it.

As far as drive shafts, I need to do some measuring. I'm gonna need a lot of splines for the front.

That's one crazy arch. Are those the same springs in both pictures?

There 4" Lift springs , and yes same spring in both pictures I wanted about 8" of lift but flexy with a lot of droop, And Boy do I have it I'll be running up to 47" tall LTB's I have trimmed the fenders as far as you can and still be Bolt on.

I'm also running a 2" Bodylift

I want this thing to be a like a slinky off road. In the rear I will be using Inboarded 63" 3/4 ton springs and a as of yet decided wrap bar

A word about driveshafts , your gonna need some type of long slip. Either an aftermarket Long slip d-shaft or a Homemade square tube job. you will now have way more flex then a stock slip shaft can manage

Yeah your right, ill see what out local drive shaft has in store before I decide 100%

Kinda Sorta but not really???

This season I'll be running 42" TSL's on 4.56 geared 1-tons MAYBE 45" AG tires will see

Next season I'll be stepping up to rockwells and a 4-link front And then my tire selection will vary by terrain I plan to run that trip.

Rocks are cool, but not with out there own set of issues. Hard to keep the rig low to the ground with that big old toploader center section

What crossover setup did you go with?

A bones Steering arm, There is a guy who makes the local, Used

a ported 2wd BOX from Redneck ram, used

1 ton rod ends, and a chromolly link

drop pitman arm, from ?????, used

I also have Hydro assist to put on soon.

Scored some goods today.

241-C tcase, 261 HD tcase, a few drive shafts, some 63s from a 2004 k2500 and a rear end from same truck.

Went and picked up some spring clamps for front... Hope to start on rear end tomorrow.

Ok lifted where I want the height.
Didn't have a chance to get the 63s in the back but this is where she sits till I get the new wheels on it.

At this point need to by pass the load sensing valve and figure out what to do with shocks for now. Oh well, made good progress past few days.

I am running 56's and 63 on my burb, had centered 56's first then went to the offset ones. The rears are factory take off from a 08 Silverado save the big bushing there isn't a urethane one made for it that I could find.
