'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Guess i'll have to practice tonight...

Is the 5th point really needed on these harnesses?

Most will say no. Ive used 4 points in other vehicles and always wished i had the 5th but those were good handling cars which required you to be cinched down to drive them.

For driving around town its really no needed. It just helps keep the harness from climbing up your torso. I find the ladies really like the 5th point to keep the jugulars from being tied down.

I ended up getting 5 points for the k5 because the price difference on the RCIs were nearly the same.

I need to get my racing seats back from my dad. 5 points wouldn't work very good with the factory seats.

Plus, he's never going to finish his project anyways:whistle:

Yeah! Definitely need some of those seats for the 5th point. My shoulder harnesses are mounted to the roll cage and the rest is on the seat mounts. There pretty solid but when i redo the cage ill mount it all to the cage, cage to frame, cage to sliders and so on.

I wouldn't want to run Tuttle Creek without doors. Too many branches wanting to occupy your space.

My shoulder straps will be on the cage, and the lowers will most likely go to the cage as well. I should have enough bars behind me with that big a$$ astric symbol behind me to attach them somewhere.

No doors is awesome. You can see way better and if you have to you could swivel sideways and take a piss without even getting out lol. :haha:

I guess I never thought about it but it would solve that caved-in door issue as well! Of course it does keep those of us who don't wear seatbelts at least halfway in the truck.

John tried it already. Ask him how he liked it. I wouldn't want to. Not at Tuttle.

Yeah, I got my eye poked one time with the windows down. And my wife got her glasses knocked off her face the same day. The trees don't like us. I'm sure if I had my doors off, I'd get punched in the dick somehow.

Test fit the harnesses last night. Lap belts are bolted in. Waiting on welding skills of a friend to get the shoulder straps mounted. The blue looks pretty good in there. I may eventually get another one to match the passenger side.

Only other real casualties were a hole in my LR sideway. 4 plugs slowed it to a mild leak (1-2psi every hour). Broken drivers window. And an angry fuel pump that started acting up.

All in all I had a great time with great people. Can wait for a fall run.

Also picked up some shocks on Friday. Fox 2.0 emulsion shocks. 2-16" travel and 2-12" travel. The 12's will fit on the rear now, and the 16's will require some custom mounts to make them fit on the front.

Eventually they will swap places. With 56's, poly bushings, and 6" shackles in the works for the rear, I do believe the rear would benefit more from the longer travel shocks. That may also require some floor cutting for the rears to fit at that time.

The 12's will then go up front with some altered mounts.
