'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Looks like a whole lot of fun. Better get after it. I will be swapping my front springs soon also. Glad I don't have to do rears like you too.
Trying to figure out if I want to wait on my slow brother to get me the springs he owes me, or buying what I need to get it done now.

You have a flip kit now right? So you just need to flip that around, hopefully with the tank in place? Also hope that your 52's are stil good enough to run up front.....

Yes shackle flip is on there, and will be easily flipped as I do not have a tank back there anymore. I have a fuel cell in the bed area. And my 52's look to be in crazy good shape.

Should be pretty easy.....

Thought mine were in good shape too, found cracks hiding under the ubolt plates.

So my 52's have 4 main leafs and an overload on them at the moment. Do people run the overload on the front, but flip it upside down? And do 52's usually only have 4 main leafs?

I called a junkyard once on rear 52s specifically for a blazer I think and they told me they go all the way up to 7 leaf factory packs. I've seen a lot of people who flip it but I would maybe just run it and see how it does. Not sure as I haven't looked at any for a while.

www.generalspringkc.com shows 2 options. 4+1 and 5+1. I guess the overload in the stock location would kind of act like a bump stop until I can figure out what route I will be going, and where to put them.

If your are buying 52's get the 5 +1 pack.
I already have the springs in the rear right now. So at the moment, I am not going to buy new ones.
Mine has 5, no overload

I need 6
I just read some more on @Kay86K5's thread, and it appears he only had the 4+1 overload on the front of his. I think he went back and flipped the overload, but I couldn't find that part in his build.
