'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.

TH700R4’s came behind TPI engines in Corvettes, Camaros, and Firebirds. Also behind early LT1’s.

So longer TV cables are easy to source. I believe the 6.2 diesel cables are pretty long as well.

Good call, I didn't even think about those applications. As I said before too, I'm sure there is an aftermarket TV that is longer too, cause I've seen quite a few 5.3 swaps with 700r4's behind them. So there has to be something out there I would imagine.

Bowtie overdrive's is where I got the kit to run the 700r4 behind my 5.3.

It would probably be the quickest way to adapt to the L29 throttle body. The bracket that holds the cable on the intake manifold would need to be modified for sure. Not sure if it would all clear under the engine cover though.
 
That may not be good, if you'll remember it wasn't the easiest assembly in the middle of the song. Haha
 
Nice big $20 intake tube I picked up from our eBay guy. Should get me started so I can see what I need once it’s running.

And those are my coil packs in that brown box. $50 for the set.
 
You're going to dig that thing. Just remember the clocking ring like we talked about and to truly take advantage of it you wanna clock the tcase up high. The 2wd length here is where that shines because you're front shaft angle will be workable.
 
Just ordered a set of OE surplus valve cover. $34 each was cheap enough. And one less thing i'll have to clean up and paint.
