'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
OH yeah, 100%. Either that or i'll look for a non-EGR intake.

It's literally just as easy to pull the crap off and make a little plate outta scrap metal to cover the hole in the intake. I wouldn't bother finding another intake. Should only take you a few minutes with a grinder and some RTV to get it done

Oh, and also make sure whoever does the tune on your ECM to remove EGR from the tune too...or else you'll get a check engine light

Yeah, that would save me the hassle of bringing the intake back to work and crap.

I technically don't have an ECM yet, so I could just get a newer ECM that didn't have EGR correct?

Yeah, you could. I would try and just match the harness to the ECM, year for year, or as close as you can. Even if you get an 01-03 ECM/Harness, it's not too difficult to remove EGR from it all

Well the harness is from an '05, so I found an 06 Yukon XL with an 8.1. That should help with tuning for the 4L80E too.

Yep just a block off plate is all you need.

Tune still needs to be done to eliminate security along with the torque management and burst knock retard.

Get the power steering pump with it. That's the medium duty setup with the zf pump. Standard Saginaw pumps won't bolt up to it.

It's a good one to use as it will support hydroboost brakes and hydro steering much better. Only issue is you'll have get lines made as the squarebody stuff won't fit it.

Good call!
