Planned on working more with this truck today, but got pulled into building some shelves downstairs for storage and replacing exterior door seals on my house. Funny how that always happens...
That’s my reflection lol. What is the hunk on the left?
That’s my reflection lol.
But no really, is the medium duty ac/ps bracket.
Does this make the cables easier to access on the side?Ran the new wires for the starter tonight and wrapped them in thermal insulation to prevent any issues. Also pulled this little “junction box” off of the 8.1 starter. Don’t really see a reason for it.

Next on the list is getting the broken spark plug out, and throwing on plugs, wires, and manifold gaskets for final install.
It does, but my wires come in from the back of the block. It would help with the power from the battery though.Does this make the cables easier to access on the side?
I would like that to make the installation easier

I’m pretty sure I was about 2 inch pounds away from snapping the easy out, but the threads finally gave in.
Now do I put anti-seize on with the new plugs?
Now do I put anti-seize on with the new plugs?

Yes. I could look up pictures of what can happen when you skip the anti-seize, but they'd look a lot like what you just posted.![]()

I use AC Delco Double Platinum 41-983 Spark Plugs in my 8.1Ls. GM says the gap should be .60 but you really shouldn’t gap a platinum tip plug anyway as you can damage the electrode. I screw them right into the engine fresh out of the box without even gapping them.
Those are from the votec 454 truck. What manifolds are you going with?
