Spent a few hours in the garage this morning.

Stuff completed:

• Plugs and wires (anti-seized the plugs)
• Exhaust manifolds and gaskets (missing a couple bolts)
• Final intake bolt down (still need to run the torque sequence)
• Heater hoses
• Radiator with shroud and fan (had to relocate a hydraulic line for the steering)

Stuff to be done for engine to be ready to fire up:

• Plug oil level sensor hole
• Plug cooling line holes
• Remove oil baffle (right name?) from filter adapter
• Radiator hoses and crossover hose (water pump to crossover pipe)
• Hook up fuel line to injector rail
• Block off/plug any unused sensor holes

There’s things I’m sure I forgot, but this is plenty to keep me going for the next round of work.

Went ahead and picked up this small hose. Don’t let the size fool you. That was a massive pain to install.


Also went ahead bought a new AGM battery since the last one was forgot in the crusty Cheeto

Those stupid little hoses like that. I soak in boiling water and then wear some heavy gloves to not burn myself to install.

Doesn't always work but sometimes it helps.

Heat guns work well too. I went through this when assembling push lok hose and fittings.

So in terms of the tune, these are things I need to delete:

• Vehicle anti-theft
• Evap
• Rear O2 sensors
• Torque management
• Burst knock retard

I think you should mount a 8.1 in the bed to drive a F1 supercharger to push 60psi of boost into the 6.5

Boost caboose style. But mounted.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. A blown 6.5 would give you reason to BBC/Duramax/Cummins swap it.

Yeah, but that's an engine only. I'd need a full dropout with accessories and wiring.

If/when this engine goes, the truck will most likely get a Duramax. I would not replace it with another 6.5L.
