'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
I wasn't going to pester you about this but I'm happy with the update.

As far as the routing goes it's a mental puzzle for sure. Larry is convinced the next one he does he's going to order without conduit on the wiring. He rerouted half of mine which requires pulling the conduit off anyway.

He had me order my harness with the knock sensors on a longer trunk so they could be routed down the front of the engine and then back along the pan rail to the sensors on each side. The way it would normally go is down the backside of the engine and forward. Two issues with that routing. There's already a ton of wires in multiple trunks at the back. Next it puts the harness right by the back of the exhaust manifolds on each side. So you have to take care tying them back.

Keep after it. Looks good so far.

Snuck out to the garage for a little bit before the Chiefs game yesterday. I can't get the crank sensor to plug in to save my life. It's so hard to get back there with my sausage fingers. Wife said she will give it a try tonight, we'll see how that turns out. Other than that, I am still struggling to find motivation on this truck. Maybe it's the crappy weather, maybe it's too many projects. Either way, not enough is happening on this thing and I need to turn that around.

I know from experience that getting buried in projects is hard on the motivation. I sometimes have to detour to a small sideline project like cleaning or just get outside and goof around. Or go for a drive in one of my other trucks to get the brain back in it.
Usually some sort of small change gets me moving and then I work on my attitude.

Do you think it's possible to unbolt the transmission mount and jack the drivetrain up to create more clearance?

That’s a familiar feeling. Setting and working micro goals can help. Physical checklists for what can be accomplished over the course of an hour or two have been useful to me, personally.

Steady ahead. Progress has a way of adding up faster than we realize.

Thanks for the tip!

While it's slow at work I think i'll start making a list.

I really enjoy the sense of accomplishment when I'm able to cross items off the list. However I tend to add items as I cross them off so it ends up being more of a working document for each project vehicle. I also keep a second list of materials and parts needed and it's maintained the same way. With other priorities in life it's easy to come back to the project and know where you left off too.

I think maybe that's my issue. I forgot where I was at with the wiring harness, and pretty much became paralyzed.

I'm off tomorrow so I hope to at least clean the garage around it, and get refocused.

Does my picture motivate or de-motivate you?
