Dad is retiring this summer and this will be his play toy/ beach fishing cruiser. It's powered by a 350 , 700 trans 208 with Dodge SYE mod, D44 and 12bolts w/ 4.56s. Planning on running a 33" tire, so it should be a fun rig.

Your willys??? :dunno:

No, the Willy's is my dads ( I'm jt512's brother )

The 77 days is the countdown to "K5's at the Creek" weekend. We are both working on trucks for this event. Just trying to kept each other motivated.

Just ignore him, when we were kids we had lead paint in our house and we used to let him chew on the walls  :haha:

Had a great CL day today :D I sold an air compressor I had at my shop and then scored a set of swampers this evening, just got home from picking them up, pic's in the morning :pimp:

I am collecting quite a few parts currently :D , but I thought I would at least post up a pic of the new rig.

1986 K30 454 /400 trans / NP205 D60/14FF 3.73's , completly stock, and runs like a champ :woot:.
Im doing a 52 swap on the front, flip in the back, 0 rates, swapping rears for my 60/14 w/ 4.56's , cutting it down to SWB length, and looking to run something in the 38-40" range. Oh and a ORD inspired tube bed with removable seats.

More updates soon, I WILL have this thing wheel-able for the Rausch Creek trip in June :pimp:

Your as bad as me for getting side tracked on the Cummins project:D
Good luck on the new project:thumb:

So does that mean I can blame you for this one too :D

The Cummins project will get done at some point, but, I really needed something that I could get out there and wheel and not worry about trail damage. A rust free straight K5 is a rarity around here, so bashing it out on the trail after the amount of time and money Ill have into it just isnt in its future.

On to my weekend scores :woot: The CL gods must have been with me this weekend, I sold and air compressor on sat. afternoon and then sat night I scored these ..........
swamper1.jpg

set of 4 38.5x16x16.5's , great tread for $400 :pimp: .....................................................................................................................and then on Sunday I picked up 2 of these as spares ........

38x12.5x16.5's for $50 :woot: not great tread, but for the price for 2 with wheels Im happy :D .

So tires are covered now, placing an order with Kert today or tomorrow and hopefully start installing stuff the weekend after Easter.

You should come over one night with the new cleats and a case of beer so we can work some magic with my tire groover. Here's a before and after of my spare

That sounds like a plan :waytogo: I've always wanted to try that, and my spares would be perfect candidates.

Small update.....cleaned up my other 14bolt today, welded the tubes, cut off the 1980's multiple shock mount setup :pimp: :haha: , stole the DIY diff cover from the K5's rear and shaved the housing to match (plus a little) and lastly, for now I'll be running an MLGB diff  ........:D

Well, progress has been happening :woot: and I'm not sure how well I'm staying in "budget" :doah: :haha: made a order with Kert and got a little carried away :D

My brother and I pulled the front suspension and axle this evening. Installed the B52 brackets, the FUSH kit, trimmed the front fenders, and a few other odds and ends. I installed the shackle flip last weekend, mounted up my hydro assist stuff this past week and hopefully will get the front end back together and the frame shortened on Sunday.
I did a basic tune up on the BB, running better , still need to go through the carb.

Oh, and I stole the ORD bumper (thanks again Morgan -Blowedupmotor87) from the K5 parts pile, tired of seeing it sitting in the garage unused :pimp:

Pics to come .........maybe on Sun. :D
