86 K30 - Sarge - strong box doubler and triple stick shifter

Thank you guys

I'm definitely tight up front, going to move the axle back 1~1.5" and see how it looks, I've got plenty on the back side and my front is currently pushed about 5".

Your front axle is currently 5" forward? What springs are you running? Do you know about how much lift?

I am about to order ORD springs for my K30 truggy and I am debating on how much lift and how far forward to push the axle. I was planning 5 inches of lift and 2-3 inches forward.

Since you are running the same tires I am interested to see what works out for you and how much trimming I will need to do.

Truck looks awesome by the way!

Im honestly not 100% sure on either, but im running 52's with Kerts brackets all the way forward and springs in the front mounting holes. I would guess maybe closer to 4" from stock, I went that far to keep the shackle out of the body mount and not bottom out on the frame (6" shackles btw). As for total lift I would guess around 5", I have the 4" shackle flip in the rear with 6" shackles and it sits even with the front.
Im hoping to move the axle back this week and then I will have a better idea if I need to trim more.

Looks great! I love this truck.

Thank you  .

......maybe its just me, but it really means a lot to get compliments from others that have such awesome rigs themselves, so really, Thank you everyone for the compliments :waytogo:

A little pic whoring :D. Loaded up and going to my shop for some more tube, trimming and other odds and ends.

Oh it is a bit wider now, it rubs the inside of the trailer tires now, used to clear by an inch or so

Oh damn that looks so awesome!!! As for your front axle location. My axle is all the way forward with B52s and its 2.5"s from stock. Just for reference

Made some progress :woot:

Started on phase 2 of the bed :D, lots more to do but now im motivated :waytogo:

Need to pick up more tube as I only had one stick (17'6") and I used all but 18" on that.

The shop is a bit crowded right now too, I have 3 machines there, dads Willys on the lift and my buddy Ben's CJ there also. We pulled it out of the weeds and will have it ready for the Raush Creek trip on the 22nd, it hadn't run since 02, bit it does now

You can help me brainstorm while we are at rausch on my bed cage! I can't come up with a good way to do it. Let me know when you make a order for steel I may need some too.

We'll come up with something cool :waytogo:

I've got to call around on tube, I recently priced some other stuff from my normal places and everything has jumped up $$ around here.

Oh, I also moved my front axle the other day, I guess it was my fender trimming that threw me, I was convinced the axle was further forward then it was :dunno:. After checking and double checking it seems to have been right at 3" forward, I pulled it back an inch and it's about perfect. I may still have to clearance the bottom of the core support, but I need to flex it and see how the bumps work and what hits.

Before RC - more tube work
- couple of other bed mod's
- paint and install tube doors
- thin out rear spring packs some more
- reverse lights :doah: (it's only been a year :D)
- better place for the rear license plate
- help my brother get the Wagoneer ready
- help Ben get the CJ ready
- 10 other things I'm forgetting
- find more days in the week to do all this
Oh and work on the Willys too :doah: :dunno:

I'm glad to see you went option #2 for the new tubing. It looks great:thumb:

You just need to watch out for those Rock Assult vehicles on I-95:D

Sweet !!!! :waytogo: :pimp:

The truck looks awesome :D, im really liking it..........I already am preparing excuses to myself as to why a cummins swap in Sarge is not feasable....................................................................

..................right now  :haha:

It would be sweet to have a cummins powered sarge tho....

I guess since I already messed up a trailer fender, I need to make removable or hinged ones. I also need to modify my overload springs. The silver dodge has about 4" lift. The over loads, top or bottom pair were not touching in this pic. I beleive one set needs to be touching. Its ass is draggin to much for my liking!

Your not helping..........already

On the fenders, I made mine removable, it's already annoying :doah:, I've got an idea on a hinged set up, just got to figure out a quick yet strong lockdown setup. If mine weren't as high as they are I would really consider a mod to make them drive-overs, I've seen a few that other people have done and it doesn't look too bad to do, I've only had the rig on the trailer 1/2 dozen times or so and I'm already tired of the fenders :doah: :dunno:

I just cut the 3" out of the inner side of the fender, straighten the messed up sections, and going to hinge it. It may need some stiffening on the remaining fender. I'm only going to do one side for now until I screw up the other side.

Rick

Gotcha, I made the whole thing removable, and it's a PITA sometimes. With the new tire/ wheel combo I'm rubbing the insides of both tires, but hinging "half the fender" wouldn't be that bad.

Are you planning on putting a seat in the back???

It's in the future "to add list" :D plans have always been to have a removable back seat. Eventually I would like to pick up one the PRP (or other brand) 2 person seats that I could put back there.
