86 K5 -"Jacob's monster truck" with a Cummins swap

It's really not that hard to do, I've read your build , you can definitely handle it :waytogo:
I was in the same boat, I had always wanted a full vert (I've had K5's since I was 16 ) and had owned 2 that were complete basket cases, plus the most recent and finally decided it would just make more sense to build one from a rust free truck...................

it's not like I was worried about keeping something original :haha:

I am not worried about keeping things matching either. I did manage to sleep for a few hours. :) after the next wheeling trip I think I might make the dream a reality.

Just saw this build thread and it is going to be one awesome rig when you're done :waytogo:

Any luck getting Jacob's monster truck fired up yet? I think it's awesome you're building it for your son. My dad and I built my first K5 back when I was in high school and made some good memories doing it. Hopefully Jake won't have to wait until high school to see this one run:whistle:

Thanks for the compliments :waytogo:

I hope to get back to work on it this summer, we've got Sarge (our K30) to point that we can just use it and have fun.....not saying it's "done" (whatever that means :D ) but the important stuff is. I have some things I have to buy again :doah: as they got robbed during the other build, but I would really like to have it off the jack stands and wrap up most of the drivetrain.
Once I get the 53 Willys wagon im also building done then it will be full bore on the K5....:woot:
