86 suburban

Thanks! I’m from NW Iowa. You are correct it was my first time at Tuttle Creek, and definitely will not be the last.

Went down the highway today with the homemade driveshaft. It wasn’t as bad as I expected, but it does have a bit of a vibration at 60 mph. I’ll probably keep my eye out for a stock one for road use.

I have a friend who wants to tag along next time I go. It would be really cool to have a group to go with, but I think I could spend a week down there alone and not get bored.

I have never heard one slosh, but am guessing the amount would not be large.

Basically you drill a hole in the tube, put some ATF in there and weld it shut. I suppose you could get fancy and use an NPT tap and plug. The concept is that the fluid dynamically balances the unit as it's spinning, much like running airsoft pellets or balancing beads in tires.

I've never tried it.

That’s interesting, never heard of that but I’ll bet it works. It’ll never rust out either!

I installed some cheap-o mechanical gauges in place of the factory warning indicators. I also took care of a small heater hose leak, and some other miscellaneous things. If all goes well with work this week I’m hoping to get back down to Tuttle Creek Saturday.

I installed some new mufflers this weekend. I also cobbled together tail pipes from my exhaust tubing graveyard. They are far from even, but I’m sure the rocks will re-arrange them anyway.
