Have you decided where to order the weatherpack and metri pack stuff from yet.

i love the back tires off the ground....

the wiring is something I can't wait to do! I'm getting a little weary of grinding all day... :(

I'm a ways off from pulling any wire, it's just something I have to think about now.... I'm so stoked to put the conturas in the overhead... i think it's gonna look sick with the CB, etc...

those are cool....

I was all set to just blast the steelies with some black.. beadlock em down the road... and these turned up... it's cool, I'll do 2 sets of tires at some point...

today's side hi-jack cool pic o' day from Ryoken........

I wonder if he popped the top off that engine just after this picture was taken. I bet he didn't have a rev limiter to save him when he lost traction completely.

Not only did he lift the fronts, he got the rears off the ground too!!

Awesome.

Later,
Buddy

So i take a break from CK5 for a few months and have to read for 3 hours to catch up on your build.....lol

Excellent work as always. And I really like the overhead CB console. That will definetly make it into my truck at some point.

Where do we send the royalty checks?:D

I was bummed when i found out Weld got bought and was not going to make super singles anymore. I have them on the K5, they are 21 years old. Also have them on my 07 crewcab. I will be screwed if one gets messed up.

American Racing is who bought weld when Greg went bankrupt. So that would be the first place to check if they have any left in a warehouse.

I really like the idea of 2 sets of rims/tires for this rig... the "pretty" Welds to run around most of the time with, wheel good when needed, groove and sipe the TSL's to get the best road manners, etc.. and a set of locked steelies and the 39.5 bogger/TSL combo for dedicated wheeling adventures.... :saweet:

i may say different after having to do the swap a few times, but I'm not scared! :haha:

Sounds like a good plan, but i'm with you, lets see how many times you swap them. I bet you end up running with the steely's all the time, or find a "nicer" set of rims that you don't care about to wheel hard.

I think i'd be pretty good about it.... I'm pretty well set up for doing it.. space-wise, tools.. i figure about 75% of the wheeling i'll end up doing on the 38's... the only time i'll run the nasty's is for like weekend wheeling gigs... maybe 6 x's a year or something... Canadian border fishing trip? the 38 radials...

even tho my daily minimum mileage, which happens often, to be about 5 miles is VERY local, I'll get sick of hearing the Boggers pretty quick I think.. not to mention, even tho I think the truck will do "OK" with the PoPo running the 39.5's, we'll see, it will be techniqcally illegal..

hopefully the rig looks so well-made, they'll just pull me over to ask me about it... :haha:

Yup , I had one officer back in the late 80's that gave me s**t over my tires sticking out to far, and that it was illegal. I use to tell him the mirror that came on the truck stuck out farther. He would just get pissed at me, told me to fix it or park it, but they never did more than give me warnings about what they were going to do to me.

Adding that mirror remark to my database of things to say to cops when im overly confident :haha:
