87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

I'm shootin for August, but we'll see how the money train goes... hopefully I'll be spending 4 G 's on parts over the next 4 months or so...

the thing that's killing me is a $500 a month payment/bill I've been making since last x-mas to get myself out of debt.. as of dec, it'll be done.. and that's been coming right out of the rig funding...

edit - and welcome to page freakin 40 for ones in the "100 per" crowd...

updated my sig pic...
what was that?bs kickflip or blont bs kickflip out.looks good either way.lol.as to the pages congrats.i try to keep up- on your daily posts so i dont get lost in the pages.ill be lookin for ya in august.i dont know if they still do it but ok 4 wheel drive has a fall crawl run every year or used to in september.august they have their truck fest at their shop near phillipsburg.if your truck is running and legal by then.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed..

nah, the bottom pic of the rig, it's got a couple different shots in it now...

the avatar is oldschool.. heck, a kickflip on vert was still 15 yrs away at that point...

it was called an air to tail in those days, but in that clip Gelfend is actually doing an air to 5-0.. which wasn't even a designation in those days.. that's shot in probably 1979...

thanks.......

I haven't skated since september... not even flatground... I'm pretty sure it's the longest I've gone since I was 9... usually I at least go for 1 winter indoor sesh.. even when I was recovering from my full ACL gigs, I think I was skating within 6 months.. albeit cautiously...

It's hard for my brain to admit I'm over the hill and retired from vert... I'll have to satisfy my cravings with a little flatland over the next couple months...

hopefully a decent update for you guys sunday...

What kind of board do you ride? I make my own Longboards, Its a fun side project to do. Ive made ten or so, and sold a couple. DEULING CUSTOMS lol

no popsicles! :haha:

I have a couple Pocket Pistol and Pool King offerings from recent yrs, but I generally stick with vintage stuff from the early 80's thru early 90's...

I'm down to about a dozen riders these days... but I've had upwards of 40, 50 decks at different points in time... I was gonna do my own company about 10 yrs ago, was doing lots of deck and logo design stuff..

here's some of the stuff I ride consistently, terrain depending..

hehe, here's some longboard action....

and a long board shape I came up with....

I skate newer style decks, but nothing less than 9" wide... and I always find myself breaking out the ole faves, they just feel right under my feet...

I once made a list of every deck pretty much that I've owned over the years.. hundreds... took that list and notated current E-ghey values.... it was well over 200 g's in value....

I was offered $600 for that black/white Monty Nolder model about 5 yrs ago in it's current used condition, and turned it down.... I've seen them go for almost a grand... I was skating it on vert last summer...

that center black one, with the fresh black paint, may be my fave deck of all-time, it's a JFA... ala Jodie Fosters Army... worth some pretty big coin these days in mint condition.. here it is prior to that paint...

actually those cored Krypto's on that deck are pretty rare and fast as balls on crete...

some of the late 70's Dogtown decks I used to have, consistently sell on ebay, in mint condition, for 3 to 5 g's... sh*t's freakin rare.. an item built to be destroyed.. heck, I probably have 10 grand in broken decks hangin on my walls... :doah: :haha:

hopefully I can offend all the "major 3" sports fans with this one..... :haha:

Thats sick man. My dream job is to own my own longboard and skimboard company.

eh, better have a factory in China then.... other than the homebrewed small vert companies, skateboarding sold out a decade ago... all the major popsicles have been producing their cr@p over there for awhile now... a cue made of oldschool Canadian rock maple? ya gotta look to the small vert companies..

sorry, just a diatribe on my part... :haha:

longboardings cool tho, it's got some soul... we used to run some longer cues, in the 36" to 38" range, bombing the mt roads back in the day... nothing like a high speed tuck at night doing 50 down some pitch black road.... fun times... :woot:

eh, I tend to derail this off into bloggish type stuff here and there... figure it's better than starting new threads...

patience son, working on it.. :wink1:

Those boards bring back some memories. I used to have a few Alva's ans Sims. Also, a hammerhead, forget the brand, But, I went through a ton of those big boards. Sweet!!!!

I think I just had a flash back

Suicidal Tendencies was the rage when I was in my early teens (thoroughly annoyed my parents :angry1: at the time) now days if I mention that name to the younger crowd all I get is blank stares.

Your build thread is very inspirational good thing I don't have crap for tools otherwise I'd be :hack: , :grind: & :weld:

All I wanted was a Pepsi.

just one pepsi:D

back on topic, any new progress on that sweet k5 of yours or what:rolleyes:
