cool Adam... I used to have/run a skate site where I did "how to do" step by steps on all kinds of oldschool tricks.... interesting terrain, griptape art, etc... I have hundreds of pics of weird gripart....

anyway.. the rig... sorry guys, haven't touched it.... spent all day sunday cleaning and organizing my work tools.. had one whole bay floor covered in Snappie stuff....

I just haven't had much energy for it lately... so exhausted when I get home, I've been passing out.. basically it's been work, sleep, that's it.. good thing being I'm racking some OT and just payed off my ridiculous winter electric bills, so I hopefully can order a fockton of parts over the next month or so...

you work more than me...

I have to use my Nogo as a work vehicle around the marina, another reason my life sucks.... :( it just gets sooooo trashed after awhile.... all my tool bags start getting mixed with different stuff, garbage from jobs, etc..

after awhile I just get sooo annoyed.. dump everything on the floor, blow the sand and crap outta the bags, put all the wrenches together, sockets back on rails, etc...

usually I'll throw a sh*tfit every couple months at work and take an hr to do it.. i just decided to do it on my own time this time...

yeah man.not much down time this winter.ususally get a few unwanted days off because lackof work.i pretty much worked 70 hours a week all winter.got me back on top of bills, but i didnt touch my truck for most of it.my work truck is a 18 wheeler i basically live in during the week,so i know how hard it is to keep clean.you have a more physically challenging job.and i can see how climbin around boat hulls gets you tired.hopefully when you get soem of those boats in the water, they will let you be for a lil bit:thumb:.

just a personal note.. :o work stuff...

I gotta give myself a little pat on the back..... :waytogo:

I have just been absolutely killing it for a couple weeks now... hands of gold you could say... spot on diagnostics, 1/2 the labor time and perfect execution... everything from repowers, electrical, drive work and even some spot gelcoating in here and there...

at some point the boys are gonna get banged for a raise... :deal: I'm letting em slide for now, as we are past friends... paying my dues, new biz, etc, but I really am just stupid underpaid... :doah:

anyway, sorry for the blog tease... :p: i promise I am commited to bangin out some rig stuff on my day off sunday...

carry on.... :woot:

Paul, I would hope they realize what a valuable asset can mean for their business.
I've always said that it's the employees that make the difference in how successful a business is. And good ones are not worth letting get away.
I hope there are better checks ahead for ya.

well, the thing is, tho we really are building an excellent marina, and swamped, the marina will really eat up as much cash as ya make at this point.... we could invest a half mil right now.. new lift/pit capacity.. I mean I work out of a tractor trailer box for god's sake... the fact it wasn't a service yard before they got it, hurts... shop tools alone are a battle right now....

I know my 3 bosses are not "taking home" more than a couple bucks an hr more than me... I've seen the paychecks.. and actually, with the stupid hrs they work, they probably make less than me...

it'll happen, maybe not as big as it should be.. but I'll get a couple bucks more out out of em in a couple months at least...

everyone knows it... my yard guys get slackjawed at the sh*t I pull off.. :haha:

customers, even my "hard to impress" bosses... there's a reason why the service manager's at Dinckley nicknamed me "John Wayne" :haha:

Thats good Paul, as long as they actually realize what they have in you, you'll get yours, and the fact that they aren't getting rich riding your back is somewhat of a comfort too.

You nead to buy in... You can`t get rich working for someone else.

You got super talent, you nead to get the word out.:dunno:

thanks man... :D

I really can't tell ya the range of schtuff I have to repair, etc in a day... one minute I'm lighting off a fresh mill, next it's fix a crash, then installing radars, yada, yada...

my buy in, was me... :pimp: it was a pretty big deal for them to be able to hire me... i could have commanded more when I started, but that was my contribution... I'm looked at very differently than a normal employee would be.. for 6 months before I finally came to work for them, it was "wait'll you see this guy that's coming to work for us" every customer has told me that story... :haha:

it's the kinda deal where if we can be where we wanna be in 5 to 7 yrs, I'll be getting hooked up pretty good... hopefully my body holds out! :haha:

anyway, nuff tootin my own horn... at least good OT lately so I get a big order out next week, sweet... :woot:

If you're very valuable to your current employer, how are the middle management goons doing at your old job?

very, very lucky to have jobs... destroying your yards reputation can have dire results in short order.. they've gone from a 25 craftsmen crew, to a skeleton staff...

The only reason that corporate marina is open is that the state marina across the street kicked all the boats out for a few yrs till they rebuild the facilities.. They ended up getting some of the boats for winter storage...

up till that point, they had been losing customers left and right, place was like empty... about a 1/2 dozen of those customers came down to us.. I just put 2 of them back in the water on thurs, recommisioned and set happily on there way to take the boats to their houses...

Even with that influx of boats, Dinckley is still in trouble over there.. we rode by on the water coming back on repo boats a couple times this winter, and the boat count was WAY down... thing is, that yard for the company is kinda used as a tax write-off anyway.. if they didn't have the 50 ton travel-lift, they'd be boarded up right now..

We've had quite a few of their customers inquire if they can come down to us, but we only have a 25 ton travel-lift, some of them, we just can't accommodate.. thus us strongly considering reconfiguring our yard with a bigger pit/lift, etc...

if it where up to me, all we would have is 30' to 60' sportfishes and express cruisers.. 1/2 our marina is 21' and under, which we've been losing customers on... with the economic times, those kinds of boaters can keep those boats on a trailer at their house... so we have open smaller slips, and our bigger slips are constantly full..

The other big group in our yard I have no use for, that slowly we'll get away from, are the blow boaters... cheaper than sin them people... most are whiney liberal types as you can imagine... "hey, the wind is free!!!" :haha:  throw in, they're a pain to work on..

working out of the house a couple days this coming week, got some paint work to do, couple radars and associated parts... and the dungeon is far better equipped for it...

I tried skateboarding...once....

I landed on the curb, with my azz....I couldn't get up till the suction released.....:doah::doah::doah::haha:

eh, it's a skater thing... almost like tradition..

I've certainly drank tons of Pabst over the yrs... far better than drinking a Coors Light, at least it's a real beer...... Tho I do prefer a Molsen Ice...
