87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

actually taping off the covers took about 15 minutes each... I do alot of that kinda stuff while I'm sitting around at night watching tv, drinking Jack, etc... :wink1::doah::haha:

It would have taken me 45 minutes of full concentration and I still would have had paint bleed under the tape. :doah: :D

It's all about the blue fineline.... :wink1:

Yeah, it prolly doesn't help that I just use whatever I can find laying around. Duct tape, electrical tape.... :doah:

i bought 2 new rolls of the blue 3m tape to mask of my blazer before i painted it. Ya know how much of it i used??? :doah:

Not an inch :haha:

was it plastic fineline or crepe painters tape?

You can't imagine how much of that kinda stuff I have around.. rolls and rolls of ALL kinds of tape... My dad used to get me good deals being a 3M employee back in the day...

just got done with the weld-in frame brace.. I'll put pics up tomorrow.... woohoo, ordering my seats in the morn too!

oh it was definately the paper tape. I know how much that fineline tape is and it just didn't seem worth it to use it on a rusted out old $1000 Blazer :haha:

I'll just pic whore a bit

yeah, the paper painters tape doesn't leave a nice tight line.. good for overall masking, but not a "finished" stripe type, edge..

I mostly use the olive green finelines, for that stuff, but the blue curves better... I get lots of leftovers from work too... I must have at least a large millkcrate with just tape in it...

whore ahoy!!

yeah, it had a sh*tload of tiny cracks.. :doah::haha: stop-drilled, v'd, yada, yada...

funny thing is, I have no idea who's weld-in patch that is, came with the truck.. It's not ORD's.. shape is different.. worked out ok tho...

tomorrow I'll get it cleaned up, primed and seam-sealed.. so I can bolt the other B-52 up and get going on the winch and bumper...

I am soooo NOT OCD........ :o

but one might think that huh? :haha:

Yes but we love your work... :(

yeah that's what happens when it has a body lift on one half and not so much on the other :doah:

The cabs sitting on the frame

sorry for the assumption, mystery post.... :doah::o:haha:

yeah, 205 twinstick rails from JKW and his hydro steer cap.... The hydro will be done actually after I put the truck back on road. But I figured I may as well get it while I was getting the rails...

next week I do 1/2 my NWF order, so I can finally put the 205 together and mate it up to my mock up 700, so I can figure out my driveline, x-member and shafts.....

I'm also getting my twinstick cable shifter too, for fitting up my tunnel and new console.. i'll have to order again from him when I can, to get my x-over setup... still have big orders to do from Jesse, Randy's and PSC too... But I'm psyched on ordering my PRP's friday, going with the wide Rhino's... I really want them for fitting up the cab floor/tunnel/yada...

the money is scary... I added up my wishlist till march, $6500...:eek1::haha: might have to cut some corners in the end, but I hate settling for second best... :doah:

Yeah, it is crazy how much things add up. And you have already bought the running gear. In the end, you could've bought a new car. Which won't do much off-road.

I think the newest vehicle I've ever owned was 12 yrs old.. and that was just after high school actually..

honestly, I had about 5 g's total into the truck with purchase over the 3 yrs prior when I took it off the road at x-mas, 10 months ago. I've spent $6000 in parts since then, 1500 in tools (another 1000 to go if I have it my way) and have pretty much a minimum of 6000 to put in before spring.. really, it probably needs to be 8000, we'll see...

but hey, figure by the time I have 25 into it after the next round, it'll be done, sick, paid for, fresh, and above all, what I want... The next go-round will be motor, cage, welder, stereo, lights, etc...

why do I feel the need to work OT next week all of a sudden..... :doah::wink1::(:haha:

newest vehicle i had owned was 11 years also. It was 2002 and i owned a '91 Grand Prix. Now i own a '94 chevy,85 Blazer, 77 truck, 77 dodge :doah: Half my trucks are older than me :haha:

Are you thinking on board welder? I am curious to hear you plan for that.
I'm thinking 160 amp alternator, in the ac compressor position.
