87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Glad to hear everything worked out o.k, Take care of yourself first. and continue when you can, we will still be here to steal ideas and encourage the build.:laugh::D

:D

thanks, I'm gonna try to refrain from getting animal on the truck... There's quite a bit i can do just messing around down there if I have time off... heck, even a bunch of cleaning and organizing will help in the end...

one little project I may work on is I have an idea for making a brake for my press.... I want to be able to bend 90's in some beefy plate for brackets and such..... hopefully i'll be able to do 6" wide 3/16 th's or 1/4 thick 90 degree bends...

was just going over some specs on the PC with Jag, gonna try to get that in the mid of january.. should be a pretty sick setup... :saweet:

Glad to hear it wasn't more serious, but you still need to take it a bit easier. We want you around, BB10 is coming.

Well, It's definitely better than you had expected. Glad it's all relatively well, just keep in mind how freaked out you were when you think you "need" another hit of whatever vice you have. Mine's chocolate BTW. :haha:

As well.....

after a battery of tests, when the smoking hot ER nurse said i had carpel tunnel,

the minute the babe doc said it was carpal tunnel, I immediately felt much better..... ...

Since you mentioned her, not once but TWICE......

This thread is worthless without pics!! :D

Seriously, glad it's not worse news. :wink1:

Later,

Buddy

Take it easy and heal up. Carpel tunnel can be fixed, and arthritis will just slow you down a bit. As long is the ticker is good it'll all work out.

Subscribed to make sure I don't miss that...

oh, my god dude, she was freakin smoking... :haha: little latin girl about 35.. looked like Selma Hayek...:bow::bow:

thanks for the concern guys!:D

took some serious self control to not become "elevated" :haha:

think I'll take a ride out to my steel guy in the morn and pick up some stuff to fab up this brake... only thing is, I lent my press to the marina, so I'll have to bring that home weds when I pick up my check...

the thing that got me going on that, was an idea I have for my shock towers...

as for the truck.... I think I may take this time to start working on fitting up and sectioning the fenders over the holiday break...

Paul, just getting caught up again on your thread....a bit of a wake up call huh?
Hey I just had an MRI for a bulging disc in my neck, now I get to go to PT for the next month twice a week....awe come on it only hurts when I turn my head, or sleep, or look up, or down, or.....anyhow its a bitch getting old, when you've not been kind to your body...

well that sucks, sorry to hear that... :( hope that gets better for ya...

I'm certainly a walking disaster, but I asked for it.... I've lost track of the broken bones and stitches, but thats stuff i can tough it thru... it's that "system" damage I've done over the years that had me worried... heavy smoking, drinking, painting, etc over the years is what I feel I need to combat now...

hopefully I can make a good turn around here... when I started my new job, I kind of made a decision to stop skating the big stuff... I dont want to let my bosses down by being out with an ACL, broke neck, whatever....

but I'd love to work on getting back in as good a shape I can be in for next summer, and maybe get one last hoorah in my skate life.. I'd love to go to Ohio and hit Skatopia's Punisher....

skatopia_punisher.jpg

or maybe a trip to Louisvilles huge fullpipe...

louisville1_opt.jpg

we'll see... but I'm gonna work toward it either way, eat right, get back on my meds, start biking at the first decent weather, etc...

even if I can't wreck coping anymore, I'll still have fun dorking around down at the tennis courts, as long as I can walk... :wink1:

Glad to hear things are going well. It's nice to get the relief of something not so serious when you wonder if the end is near.

Keep it up and take it EASY!!

God Bless!!

Just wanted to echo what everyone said man

GET BETTER first, truck will be there just waiting for you.

I have been in and out of enough Drs offices and er that the few times I see a smoking hot nurse or Doc, I tell em, always brings a smile even got a number once (she didn't notice my wedding ring or didn't care I guess)

Any way feel better and the truck is looking sweet, I only check this thread every week or so and it looks awesome with the seats in it.

You make me want to skate again, kinda quit once i left highschool and joined the ol' USMC. I was moving my D60 onto some Jackstands the other night and found the last board i had, hasnt been used for more than 5 minutes since high school. Brought back lots and lots of Memories.

I had my first knee surgery at 14.... :wink1:

that first ER visit will usually weed out the normal intelligent public... :haha: for the rest of us idjits that it became an addiction for, the first of many, many slams... :doah:

started messing around today with sectioning the fenders..... always fun starting a new project, and of course, it's always more involved than expected...... :haha:

Hey Paul, I was wondering on your cage work/frame tie ins etc. if you used any kind of a frame jig to assure everything was squared up. I'm starting the boxing of my frame now, and think I will make a drawing of measurements for square, and level before I take anymore crossmembers out of it. When I took the frame off the trailer today it flexed so much, and I've only removed the trans/tc crossmember. I'm sure the boxing will solidify it much more, but know I need to get square and level before I work with this kit.
Just wondered what you may have used to assure it wasn't an off-kilter mess when you finished.

nope, I'm no help to ya on that one... mainly because I left my 4 back body mounts attached to the frame.. not actually a "frame off"... so nothing really moved, frame-wise, even with that whole front cab section out..... also my frame has always been sitting very flush and flat on my sawhorses..

my suggestion would be to, at a minimum, take and write down detailed measurements now, before you start fitting up and welding in the plates... could also tack in some x-bracing on top, like guys do on first gen door openings, to maintain your positioning...

I will add some crossbraces...excellent idea.
I will make a few sketches too, of the frame.
And as soon as I get the rear axle together and out of the way, I'll set it up level in the shop.

Thanks Paul
