87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Which monday?

:haha: yeah right... the 15th....... if the gods are smiling on me...

the thing that annoyed me was that brokerage fee bs.... I'll bet I get hit again for this package too....

hopefully I'll be putting in my order that same day with Randy's for my axle stuff....

I'm assuming that most of the nonsense comes from customs on either or both sides of the border, and not NWF per se?

I'm guessing thats the issue.. I'm not gonna say it's Kyle's fault... the stuff was in stock and shipped just prior to, or right after x-mas afaik...

the funny thing is that the second package that he sent again last week, according to UPS was in BC a couple days or so, but it was in Redmond on monday.... then it'll be 7 days to get here....

I'm not really sure what the deal with "brokerage" is with the whole gig... whether it's a cheaper way to ship, or it's random or if they all go thru brokerage.. the reason i was soooo annoyed at that was i specifically started a thread concerning that back in like november and nobody on here had, or knew of any additional fees coming from over the border....

like I said, amazing product from what i've seen so far, the x-over arms are sick... but I'm another one chalked up on the list of shipping nightmares.... :(

Anything shipped from overseas must sit for 24 hours before shipping in customs, regardless of who is doing the shipping. Then once shipped to the US, US Customs must clear it then it can be delivered. If the package does not have the proper paperwork, the package will just sit there until someone contacts customs and finds out what is going on. Major pain the rear to get something shipped from overseas since 9/11.

Killer project so far Paul. Keep up the excellent work.

thanks for the learnin on that, had no idea how it works...

and thanks, hopefully I'll get some good time in on her this weekend and have a substantial update....

oh man, now you guys know what we go throught up here! almost everything we build with up here is ordered outta the states, or purchased up here at a marked up cost, so ordering via usa is usually cheaper including the BS brokerage fees! argh:(

..............."And we define Canada as overseas. :screwy:"..............

yeah....you didnt notice that ocean in between us? lol

my sympathies....

i'd freak if this happened all the time.... we get spoiled with that 2 day Summit delivery schtuff I suppose..... :haha:

and 6 too 8 weeks is normal shipping. i plan my stuff around christmas, too be sure i have it for february! and when it arrives be prepared to pay extra ,and no cash money because it never makes it back too the office and a month later you get another bill! ask how i know!

boy, I just went off... :haha: ordered a ton of cool toys today..

gonna be x-mas in feb for me! :saweet:

I can relate Paul, got all kinds of stuff lately, now the engine stuff should be coming in another week or so....wahoo.....and ouch too.

Just a FYI...I shipped a Harley air cleaner to a guy in Ontario, and it took 42 days to get to him.....he thought I was a scammer, but he got it eventually. Lets hope it don't take that long coming this way for ya.

.

jusgot my tax return.so 800 dollars wrth of parts will be delivered by brown santa soon.luckily he has to come to the business next door,so i can ask him to keep an eye out for my stuff when hes workin the dock. :)

sooooo........

I'm researching where to buy more of the jumbo black cord grips like my battery cables run thru... I have a bunch but i want a certain diameter, grip range for that conduit I posted...... come to find out, one of the major manufacturers of em is about a mile from my house, Heyco....cool, I can prolly go after work and pick some up.... they run about $4 or 5 a piece thruout the internet..

but in that search I noticed thomas and betts makes em too, in gray, and wow, nice looking stainless.... hmmmmm, that might look good at the firewall end.. the black conduit into those, right next to the blingy heater hose bulkhead..... black ones at the other end at the electronics box....:thinking::thinking:

base_media

sooooo........... :wink1:

I look to the column on the right, DAYUMMMM, they run like $85 a pop! :doah::eek1: and i need 2... :(

think I'll stick with the black plastic ones at $10 a pair over the $170 to match the heater bulkhead... I'd go $25 a piece, but, thats ridiculous!

pretty good day on the truck today.... hopefully I get alot done tomorrow... :D

been working heavy on the wiring diagram at night....super stoked on next weeks parts, have enough Contura stuff coming in next week to retrofit the shuttle....:haha:

btw, there's a real probability that a bunch of all these electrical leftovers will probably end up in the for sale section at some point....

always used Heyco at the rescue truck fab shop I worked at. Good quality in my experience.

yeah, i've been using the PVC black Heyco stuff in the boats for years... they're like nema 6 rated.. nice stuff... I had noooooo idea they where based in my hometown! :doah::doah::D

i was blown away at the cost of those stainless ones... I knew they where available, didn't know they cost a kidney...:haha:
