I'm surprised too. I'm really disappointed with it too.

it's like x-mas morn pulling it off!

Sounds like you've got a good plan!
FYI, The other big reason I haven't been real happy with Herc. is that it is impossible to clean, so it always looks filthy. That's ok, I suppose, but I like the option of cleaning.
looking at your cage, I have a question, why no V or window cross bar? Not a ton of added benifits? Or?

I was gonna apply one of my boat tricks to it... basically i was gonna pour off a qrt out of the gallon, run it thru a strainer, then use that grit free batch for the last overcoat...woah. that right there = genius...well, tell me what you think of this....I was gonna apply one of my boat tricks to it... basically i was gonna pour off a qrt out of the gallon, run it thru a strainer, then use that grit free batch for the last overcoat...
it's a trick we use on non-skid boats.. to really seal in and smooth over the top of the grit.... do you think that would help?

those were the pics I was waiting for with some light in there, brings out the cage color and you can start to see the true copper in those pics. I know nothing really compares to daylight to bring out the colors but thank you for lighting the dungeon up man.
As far as the Herc goes we tried straining it on a buddys rig quite some time ago. We were painting the exterior. Just didn't work too well, you know more than I about that side of stuff but we tried alot of stuff and a couple of multi stage things, just never worked that well.
What we did was just hit it with a some scotchbrite (I think red) that knocked down the really rough stuff but we had to paint over it. The scuffing ruined the finish. Of course his didn't look chalky over the next couple of years.
I am surprised you don't have a connection with a line x (my favorite) or speed liner dealer or something. The boat places around here use it all the time.
same lighting i always have, the new camera just takes suuuuuch a better pic...

That thing is really coming together. When you first painted the cage red I wasnt so sure about that, but seeing it with the black interior and the copper it looks amazing.
I also think that you made the right decision keeping the lower dash copper, Thats one of the things I love about these trucks is that the body color is carried over into most of the interior. And you incorporated that nicely along with all the custom stuff in there.
I hope someday I can see the truck in person, becuase I dont think all that work could be truly appreciated through a computer screen.
the colors really "pop" a lot better with the new camera...
as you can and still run a bright red/orange cage...

criticism always welcome....anyone think it's "too much"?

looking to do a pair of extinguisher mounts up front,

The whole build is too much - that's why we love it!![]()
