87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

btw.... for those that doubted the idea, am I swaying anyone? or do you still think it's stupid? :haha: :woot::popcorn:

I'm digging it.. I think it's a pretty innovative application.. and that motivates me... which I suppose is a good thing..

definitely a bit of work and coin, not that that usually stops me, definitely not for all and a bit frivolous to some, but ya gotta admit it's a pretty neat idea...

oh, and for the record... it is a rehashed idea... I had this on my 72 Gold Duster with the Mopar 6-pack hood..

albeit, not as nice as I'm making this one hopefully...

I like it looks like it will work just stay away from muddy water and you should be good to go :D

I want to build something similar for my Nova one day

I think I might just get an airbox like this for my truck

I'm way too lazy to make one :haha:

gauges belong inside not under the hood, in my opinion they will restrict air flow anyway :D

I'm with him^^^^^^:thumb:

I never doubted the Idea or air flow part, I just like the gauges in the dash. Its coming out great. I love the size and shape of that air cleaner too.

This build is insane! I've been reading this from the beginning over the last week and you have some crazy skills man.
I'm in Afghanistan working for the military showing the mechanics how to work on the MRAPs and will be going home the end of this year. After spending the last 3 years here I'm ready to start playing with my Blazer and your build has given me so many ideas and some great information, I just want to thank you for sharing some of your time and knowlege.

You always seem to sway me toward your way of thinking with the quality work you do and with your cool ideas. Some of these ideas I hope to put into my own rig down the road.

I wasn't looking to you and KG in particular, but really people who hadn't chimed in and didn't like the airpan idea.... thanks :D

and thanks Ben, enjoy getting back to your Blazer! :woot:

That looks totally sweet... but I might be a little worried about getting water and mud in there.

Is there any way for water to drain out if some does get in it?

it will have 2 small check-valved drains at the 2 back corners of the pan.. which is the lowest portion of the pan...

here's a little Dungeon play by play while I have some tuna for lunch....

final clearance under the hood...

oh, speaking of tuna... :haha: last week I ate free striper all week, this week it'll be tuna... :woot:

the early offshore season here in Joysey is yielding some nice fish.. boss made a canyon run on friday in the Albamarle and they got 6 75 lb yellow fins, and my boss caught a 300 lb marlin... :eek1:

last year he got his first billfish, a nice sword, now this yr a marlin, he was quite stoked on that... :haha:

thanks, that's the bane of fiberglass work, it'd be fun to do if it wasn't a sticky, itchy mess! :haha:

all poly products btw, no vinyl or epoxy on this one..... rip that out, then it's build the back wall and begin the "troughs"... still not 100% on how I'm gonna pull them off..

kinda sucks cuz I'm gonna be a grinding mess in the dungeon for the next couple months, but I need to find a way to sneak in some clean time to assemble the 60... the parts'll be in friday.... it's sitting in the spare bedroom right now... hmmm, maybe I'll set the gears up here in the living room....

Just throw a trap down and go for in the living room. Save you the clean up time in the dungeon:haha:

I'll do it.. I have a roll around stand I'll bring up.. actually, it'll get done in the kitchen... my only concern is the weight... I'll have to get the boys to stop after work and help me get it back downstairs...

the totally bare 60, I can bring up/down stairs, barely.. and with my back as it is, I wont... so i might as well leave it up here till the pattern is right, then get help to bring it down...

hehe, the ex used to hate carbs on the coffee table, she'd a had a cow over this...

We went fluking a few times this week outta Belmar.... caught some nice fish, between 5 of us we caught 110 one day but only 7 keepers. Me and my dad went and we got 15 and 4 7+ pounds.

Truck is looking good by the way, I look forward to all of the updates :waytogo::waytogo:
