When I installed windows full time, our company would etch our logo in the corner of the sash it was very small like the dot stuff on auto glass. They used an acid etching process. Are you planning on sand blast etching instead?
If so why lexan over plexiglass? Just interested, as I have a lot of big pieces of hurricane proof 3/16 plexi and a blast cabinet and now I have some ideas.
I've always used plexi in the past... I just seem to remember hearing that lexan is a better acrylic than the plexi.. iirc, the pricing reflects that too... a bit priceier...
the glove door, 24" x 12" x 1/4" was $18... and a 3" x 48" x 1/4" for this was like 18 too...
workability? I don't know, I'll see if I notice a difference...
I was torn on blasting vs engraving.. blasting is BY FAR THE EASIER route... I can actually get my boat name bud to do a stencil that I can stick to it.. blast.. easy peezy... and I will probably make one in the new homemade blast cabinet...
BUT I DO want to try engraving one... I'm pretty sure that's how you drastically change how bright certain areas look... you can see it in some of the computer cut stuff.. i'm not even really certain what biz I could contact about doing it, and also the specifics of the engraving, angles, depth, yada.. and that ALL probably affects how it looks..
but I wanna try my hand at it with various bits/techniques.. a bit of fence guiding with the right font, some free-hand carving, and a voodoo dance might reveal something not childlike...
