87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

tanky...

I'm chomping at the bit to get some glass in there too, a finish look..

wonder what a K5 windshield runs these days.. :dunno: I'm guessing 300...

I'll install it dude...

may have some more stuff up the next couple days... I haven't posted any inner firewall shots of the ECM mount.. gotta go down to work and get a jigsaw for the plexi..

the hinges have detents, but I'm also adding a limit strap on each side of the plexi using dainty, looped, stainless fishing cable for klutz'ssssssss... the bottom kick panel will have 2 of those black, round, 1/4 turn handles above.. than in a groove at the firewall.. once again, so if some tard turns one, nothing happens...

Don't know if they are different but my windshield cost $150 installed

Guy was so large I wouldn't let him lean on the hood to get the center "cover piece" at the bottom...so I still don't have that put on...I tried to do it myself it just doesn't want to go on.....

a marine necessity....

I understand the soap...I have the hose puller that is at the bottom of your case...how do you use the spreader and the hook?

I may take it the glass shop and have the chrome bead put in and a chrome cover plate...

just get the one side open with the hook, insert yellow, use that as guide to push in one side of the trim,, repeat on other side... your talking about the 2" chrome gap cover...

I would think you could get one for around $100 out the door.
I need to get a PPG one for mine.

thanks for the PPG reminder.. there was that other quality brand name too, can't think of the name... maybe it was that pilkington...

I'm gonna ask the dude if better are available.. i'll pay a few sheckles more for a better glass... but you know how that goes, they often only have a deal with one dizzy/manny and that's all they sell...

gotta see if there's any more "mom and pop" orientated shops locally, as opposed to the last resort giant chain company... safelite...

PPG is now PWG when you go looking. I got a friend that work at a glass shop. He just got me new vent and door glass. That a how I found out, so they have a different stamp on them then the old stuff.

I do know the better brands usually have a cleaner edge to em.. which can be vital to install/cracking.. whether there is a "thru-glass" dif, don't know..
