'87 K5 - Project "COAL" - LS6.0 / NV4500 / NP 205 / Dana 60 / 14 Bolt FF

glad to see you here . . .

I helped him with the 60 front and the 205 t-case I built for him .

we all here will get you helped out on this project .

if you want a real good driveshaft high angle driveline is around the best out there . and that might be the place he got the e-brake kit from for the transfer case . see if you can find paper work on this e-brake to help pin point it to get the right stuff.

wiring is not my best place . . . . I have to get my 2wd redone yet with wiring after a ls 5.3 swap .

again glad to see you here and good luck . I am just a few hr's down the road .

I was Shocked when I heard about your dad and so sorry to hear!!!!! I am glad you are willing to finish your project that you two shared!
Drive shaft check out Tom Woods ( tomwoods.com) or Denny Driveshafts both great companies. Need to measure hit SweetK30 sure he would come and measure to make sure you get right ones ordered. He is couple hours away I think but met your dad couple times and is a great member and help to the CK5 Family!

Wiring might help to post pics sure we could walk you through it here to see this project done and you driving it.

Make your Dad Proud Girl!

How goes the building, @Upstate?

Isn't going well at all. The money just isn't there and my mother is looking to sell as she is moving to Florida.

Just to put feelers out there, would anyone know anyone who would be interested? I have a good idea of what was spent but have no idea what to ask. Have had a couple of very low offers. Wish I had the money to get it going.

Sorry to hear this....

Take current pics of the truck along with any parts you have laying around for it. I'm sure we can help you with the value. Also, there is a classifieds section on this forum where you can post an ad.

i build the np205 round pattern case for him .

its a good clean unit . freshed it up with seals / gaskets / cleaned and checked bearings / installed a 32 spline front shaft . modifyed the rear shift rail for full twin stick . thats a 800-1000 doller case all day long in this setup on line. if he got a ord twin stick shifter kit there is another 210.00 + s/h .

we rebuilt the knuckles and king pins on the dana 60 front axle . even changed the king pins . we put on crossover steering . i cant recall if high steer also . crossover kit was offroad design also . thats around 450ish if i recall + s/h . the reman kits were yukon if i recall there around 90-100 each kit 2 required .

i know he got a nice nv4500 trans for it and clutch kit . i dont know the price tho .

hope some of this helps info and price wise .

you still got my contact info . keep me in the loop . and pm me a idea on price . i might know a few guys down this way or maybe my self if i got some cash free'd up here at some point . i know i would show that rig the love he was putting in to it .
