A 31 gallon skid would be taller therefore moving those mounting points a few inches higher. I'm sure you could work with what you have but I thought it was worth a mention.

why not just cut the skid plate off the mounting ears and extend it down with some 1/4" strap steel? not like it needs to be stupid beefy, but it shouldn't be hard to get the dimensions correct and keep the strength needed.

I made those dents.
I didn't have those problems with a 25 gal tank and 25 gal skid
It's from a 30 gallon Blazer. I thought it would be closer.

Those skid plates never fit very good. Every one I've taken off has not went back on with out a fight

Seems like it's just your straps stopping it from fitting

Been busy and lazy so I'm finally doing a Tuttle trip report. The truck did pretty well again, but it definitely needs a front locker bad. That would've kept me from getting hung up on a lot of obstacles. So hopefully I can find a cheap or used front locker. Don't really want to weld it. It needs to be locked before the next trip for sure.

After this trip I also realized the truck needs some attention. Transfer case rear output seal is dumping now, master cylinder is leaking, RR brake cylinder is leaking, and the thermostat is leaking. Probably going to just swap the rear over to disk rather than fix the cylinder since I already have diy4x brackets.

The front drive shaft smacks the crossmember very hard under load. Going to try replacing the mount first. If that doesn't work might have to make a new one.

Then someone put this boulder the size of a smart car in the middle of the trail. I spent a while on this rock as the rear axle got hung up on it. Had to have a Toyota pull me off cause I was destroying my tire and it was about to come off the bead. They were at 8 psi.

After that I crawled the rest of the way out no problem besides dragging the bedside against a tree and putting a big dent in it.
