Not too shabby for not being wetsanded/polished yet

Still got a lil bit to do. Next weekend I should finish up all the painting and it'll sit for a while for the clearcoat to harden up so I can wetsand it

Here is the link to the photobucket album for those of you bored enough to look through it

some more progress... mainly from end of spring break, and recently finished up the bedliner 2 weekends ago. Put the headers on over spring break with some supervision from a friend lol. Then we spent a while prepping the interior for the bedliner. I started on it and ran out of bedliner (which pissed me off because they told me that how much i bought would easily do a full size truck bed, and it barely did the floor on the cargo area and the tailgate  ). I finished spraying the bedliner this week, and snapped some pics of how it sits now.

Kudos

Great job so far! This looks much like what will be done with my '88. I drove mine in high school, then it's sat in the pasture. Hopefully we'll be forgiven for our sins, eh? I dread tearing her down piece by piece, but if ya want things done right, ya know... Have you listed your plans anywhere on here? Just curious. I've got my laundry list, and it seems to get longer and longer as I see projects on here.

I've sent this link to my desktop to keep tabs on your progress. Good luck and keep up the good work brother! :waytogo:

The plans keep on changing and getting longer and longer. I have immediate plans doing a DIY4x shackle flip in the rear, Tuff Country 4" springs in the front, extended shock mounts in the front, inboarded rear shocks, then start putting it back together. Once its back together I have a ton of wiring for lights, stereo, invertor, and dual battery setup to do. And then I get to buy wheels, tires, windshield and a softtop. The list is alot longer but those are the immediate things that are going to get done so I can start driving it again.

I know one thing, I've enjoyed every minute of it, regardless of how pissed off I've gotten at it:D

Great work  I just read through your whole build and it's really looking great. Not sure if I missed it, but, what kind of liner did you end up using?

Oh, and by the way, I want your garage!:D

Its called Gator-Guard II. It sprays on THICK, and it seems like it will be really tough. I got some of it on some clearcoated areas (that won't show, so no big deal) and nothing would take it off (laquer thinner, paint thinner, etc). But then again, only time and abuse will tell.

Thanks, I like the shop too, its a dream come true

How did i miss this!? Looks awesome! Good job on the bedliner! Are those the headmen elite headers? What number are they?

yes they are hedman elite headers. Part number 69830. Its the same ones that Cricket posted a review about here http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213472

I like them alot, but you will have to do away with the A.I.R. system and and have a o2 bung welded in for the o2 sensor. None of this was a big deal to me since I wanted to do away with the A.I.R. system to clean up the engine bay a bit and I am doing new exhaust anyways, so an o2 bung isn't a hassle. My install experience was not as lucky as Crickets, but it still wasn't that bad of a install. I had to pull the starter loose and get rid of one of the bump stops (for the front axle houseing I believe) but once again, not a big deal because the axle will never hit once it has the new lift springs on.

Been accumulating parts, unfortunately no pictures right now. I'll work on posting some. I have almost everything in for my lift. I also sprayed the last coat of clear coat so I'm up to 3 coats of clear... its turned out really good, other than some dust in the paint, but it should sand out pretty easy. I've been doing alot of work cleaning up old parts and painting them.

Parts on order/received:
DIY4x Shackle Flip with cross tied shackles
ORD Greaseable rear spring bushings
Tuff Country 4" Lift Front Springs
Weatherstripping from LMC
New Chrome for the grill from LMC
15x10 MT Classic II's
35x12.50 MT MTZ's

I'm gonna let the bank account recover and hopefully I'll have everything I need to finally finish this thing

long time no update...my bad. Check it.

To get an idea of how tall it is... I'm 5 10ish...

pretty tall for 4" lift lol
And a teaser...first drive a 2 weeks ago. The paint is actually glossy, the picture just doesnt show it...stupid phone camera
blazer1.jpg

Its actually alot farther along than that picture now. Its been fully matted with RAAMat (sound deadener similar to Dynamat), new door panels, new dash cap, new lots of interior stuff Its inspected and I would call it 99% done. I need to get some updated pictures for y'all. I also have the stereo finished up in it and made side panels out of black diamond plate. Also picked up a tuffy locking console, Wet okole seat covers, and a column guard (from our own, MetroDPS. Thanks!!)
The stereo consists of:
Eclipse cd7000, I absolutely love this head unit
Infinity reference 3.5" in the dash
Infinity kappa 6.5" and 6x9s in the side panels
Profile 120x4rms, it was cheap and I have had good luck with them running in 2 ohm loads
Clarion 850x1rms
Elemental Designs e3.12s, in a sealed, downfiring box with ~1.06 cubic foot per chamber (built by me :D). Box will be bedlined eventually.
2 5" fans, 1 in each side panel wired on a thermal switch set to come on around 105 degrees

The stereo sounds awesome, just no pictures yet. I'll try to update it Tuesday to how it sits currently. Thanks CK5, no way I could have done this without y'all

Yo dat jacket's tight son, naw meeeean?!?! lol:waytogo:

Looks awesome man. That's EXACTLY how I want to do mine! Keep up the good work and keep the pics coming.

Also, did you go with factory rear springs (with the shackle-flip) and just paint them? I saw the pic of 4 springs total. Or did you buy new factory height springs? {EDIT: scratch that, I guess the first pic didn't load. I guess that's what that little red x means lol}

Yep I just painted the stock rear springs. If I used new springs it would have had a really bad rake to it

Long time no update...
Its pretty much finished up...got a few lil things here and there to do, but its done and driving. Made its maiden voyage on August 18th. Went from my house near Waco to College Station, from there a 5+ hour drive to Port Aransas. It got romped on alot there as well as hauled alot of people, alcohol, and sand. After our lil vacation, I drove it from Port A to Houston, and back to CS. It was awesome, no hiccups, and it got 14.6mpg going there 8-) . It was a blast, and I'm really happy with the way its turned out for being my first project ever. Anyways, here are some pics.

It was a blast and I was extremely happy with it. I was just happy to make it there and back with no issues, and we had a blast as well. I did have two causalities... My sub box got wet from washing the sand out and expanded and came apart (new and better one already built), and I bent the bottom passenger from fender from driving through a ditch (flexy suspension, big tires, not good). The fender is no biggy since I planned on trimming them anyways, and it didnt do any damage that isnt gonna be trimmed off anyways.
