88 Crew Cab Dually 2wd to 4wd Build

The plate is different and could work. I'd gusset the daylights out of it though.

Plate it is! It's really not holding that much weight now that I've been messing with it. BUT, on the other hand I could be on that pirate thread with those hack job things and gusset the crap out of it:D
Naaaaaa

Theres gotta be othere ways to add structural strength, with out a buttload of gussets. :pimp::popcorn:

Sure, start with box tubing and cut it up. :D

I didn't mean to imply go absolutely crazy on it, I was just saying if you're sticking with flat plate in that setup I'd add some gussets to give it some rigidity side to side.

Thats what I was thinking. Or even some heavy wall angle. :dunno:

Should be good with some 37's. Had to move the axle 1" forward to get the shackle angle right. I kinda dont like having the leafs all the way forward in the B52's but its built for it i guess.

Cool, you made some good progress this afternoon. That shackle angle looks really good.
Turn up the heat on your welder! :weld:

Ive still been working on the front xmember to cover the massive frame holes the 2wd's came with. pics later.
Went to the back and tried to figure out what I need. I dont think a shackle flip will be enough so Ill have to find some 56"springs with a 4inch lift or really get a good measurement to get some made.
Went on toolwatch with my new tent cot that I wanted to try out:D

I was batting around how I was going to figure out what amount of lift I need for the rear. I decided to do the old tried and true poor mans shackle flip. This is ONLY for TESTING for me to get a good measurement. Figured out I need a 4" flip and some 4" springs as well. After getting that figure out I moved onto making my shackle flip. It;s just in its early stages so it will get cleaned up.
